The Talimmari hotel is best described as an alegory to Dr Jecyll and Mr Hyde. The part of the hotel facing the sea is tranquil with nothing but a breeze and hearing of the waves. The part facing the street is a nightmare. A nightmare in it’s worst meaning. You can guess which side our room was facing. Brutally loud music from the restaurant below killed our holidays here. Even after midnight. The only way to survive was to close the window, turn on the air condition, open a bottle of Messina beer (by the way, excellent beer) from the off-license store along the street, and then start pitying yourself. I strongly advise against booking this hotel if your room faces the street! Essentially, the best thing that happened in this Talimmari hotel is departure after 2 days. What was supposed to be the highlight of our holidays in Sicily, ended up being the worst two days of the holiday week. Will not come back to this hotel even if offered a free drink or two. Staff is friendly, though, although Google translate may be needed if you want to be felt understood.

Breakfast was disappointing and definitely needs working on. Being on a non self-serving basis and strictly measured as per person it was not surprising that freshly squeezed orange juice was just a wishful thinking.

Não são pontos negativos, mas apenas pontos de atenção. No quarto em que fiquei havia uma luz piscando no teto que parecia ser de alarme de incêndio. Usei tapa-olhos e ficou tudo resolvido. Outro ponto de atenção e em relação à acessibilidade. Neste quarto em específico, há lances de escada para o acesso - mas há outros quartos em que se chega de elevador, sem preocupação alguma com escadas.

Man zahlt hier wirklich für die tolle Lage, denn die Ausstattung der Zimmer ist leider wirklich katastrophal und entspricht keineswegs dem Preisniveau. Es gibt kaum Ablagemöglichkeiten (nur den Nachttisch, ein sehr schmales Regal und am Zimmereingang eine winzige Kofferablage plus Regal über der Minibar!) und man ist gezwungen aus dem offenen Koffer zu leben, der im engen Zimmer kaum Platz auf dem Boden findet. Im Bad gibt es nichtmal in der Dusche eine Ablagemöglichkeit (obwohl mehr als genug Platz dafür wäre…), sodass man alles überall auf den Boden legen muss und man in seinem eigenen Chaos lebt. Nur die Zahnbürste kann man auf dem schmalen Rand des Waschbeckens ablegen. Der Duschkopf war komplett eklig zugekalkt.
Trotz Fahrstuhl sind einige Zimmer (mindestens 108-112) im verwinkelten Gebäude nur über eine Treppe zu erreichen, sodass man seine Koffer über schmale Treppen schleppen muss. Barrierefrei ist hier gar nichts und wenn man nicht topfit ist, sollte man den Aufenthalt hier überdenken!
Insgesamt gibt es hier viel Verbesserungspotential.
Auch der Shuttle vom Parkplatz (der weit entfernt liegt und sich das Hotel inklusive Shuttle gut bezahlen lässt mit 25€/angebrochenem Tag) hat nicht gut funktioniert, sodass wir trotz frühzeitigem Anrufen ungefähr eine halbe Stunde auf dem Parkdeck gewartet haben. Durch die Stadt zu fahren ist aber ebenfalls keine gute Alternative. Am besten ist es wahrscheinlich komplett ohne Auto.

La taille des fenêtres donnant sur mer est un peu frustrante on rêverait qu'elles soient un peu plus grandes, mais sinon super!
