Disappointing
Pros:

Great location - easy to get to from
motorway. Pool is lovely. Great lively bar/restaurant on site

Cons:

There was loud music and people in a spa directly outside our bedroom window - they were so close we could have a conversation. There was a wedding - and the music dominated the ambience of the restaurant - changing the experience from one of a relaxed bistro restaurant to that of being in a noisy Wetherspoons. We stayed here around 8 years ago and it was lovely and relaxed, not been updated since this time and very expensive for what it is now and not nearly as high end. Very very sad as we won’t be back.

Pros:

Very comfy, homely ambience. Very helpful & friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent - a good selection of continental & cooked.

Cons:

There were some details that I would expect with a 4 star hotel in our en-suite bathroom. There were no extras like cottonwool & buds & shower hat that are nice to have.
The food menus were good but lacked variety for someone who likes more veggie options, like a risotto perhaps.

Enjoyed our stay - good value for money - and would return
Pros:

Room absolutely fine - nice view to river. Clean and comfortable. Great breakfasts and good dinners

Cons:

The restaurant was a bit chilly - definitely needed some heating in the evening

The Hotel is set is a beautiful location next the lake, the restaurant & bar are lovely with great food.

Cons:

We stay in a standard room in the old building on the ground floor, the standard of house keeping was very poor, dirty towels, broken tiles in bathroom, mold growing in the shower screen, most of the shower didn't even have any grout, bath and shower waster didn't work properly and keep falling off.
There are 2 chairs in the room, both were badly stained with dirty, the room needs a deep clean!

Perfect stay
Pros:

Could not fault the property, it had everything we needed and more - the room was spotless, the bed extremely comfortable and the thermal spa was stunning. We were also not expecting such good vegan options for breakfast or for evening meals!

Cons:

I have no criticisms whatsoever, I can’t wait to go back!

Dont stay here if you have young children or expect a good nights sleep

The location

Cons:

Our stay was significantly below expectations. The room did not feel like a genuine suite, the television was not working, the sofa bed was uncomfortable, and a broken window meant outside noise entered the room.
On Friday evening, an Ibiza-themed pool party took place directly outside our room, with music, a DJ and other effects. This was very disruptive for our two toddlers, who did not settle until after 10:00 pm, affecting our plans the following day.
Saturday night was also disturbed by four fire alarms between approximately 12:30 am and 2:00 am, with very limited communication or reassurance from staff.
We also found maintenance and safety issues in the room, including two unstable chairs, one of which lost a leg when used.
At checkout, there was no apology or meaningful acknowledgement of the disruption. Although staff said the issues would be addressed for future guests, this did not address the impact on our stay.
Given the cost of £710, we expected a much higher standard of accommodation, maintenance and customer service. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience.

The hotel main areas lovely. The pool and we love the atmosphere of the bar, amazing food and lovely staff

We’ve stated before in June and had a beautiful room with nil complaints. This time we were excited to try a suite but it was very lacking. Room 315, plug socket switch missing from the bedside. Shower tap came off in my hand, wall paper falling off, chairs with stains, under the bed not cleaned, filler on the wall that’s not been fixed. Poorly maintained room, very disappointing considering the luxury price.
