Rooms lovely and clean
Staff , short staffed , rude staff
The staff
Hotel was very hot in the bedrooms in the old section, air-conditioning still not working and when i asked for a fan they did not have one, i was fuming.
We had a couple of pizzas from the dudes dough van outside the hotel. There was no system for telling us when they would be ready, outside of a 15-20 minute window, so we had to guess when they would be ready, we waited the full 20, and they were a bit cold when we got them. The base was burnt all over, the sauce tasted like it was just passata poured over. And the toppings were scarce. Pizza was really poor. Staff were lovely as always, and the location is great, seems like a lack of organisation and training from the top down. Worth a visit, just don’t get the pizza.
We booked this hotel for a wedding at Townhead Estate. In terms of location for this venue, it was perfect. Staff were friendly enough and there was a nice atmosphere around the hotel with it being sunny weather. However, we did feel a little hard done by for the price we paid. Although clean and I have no complaints regarding noise level, our room looked shabby. The carpet looked past its best and the furniture looked scruffy. Our biggest problem was the fact that the air conditioning was not in use. It was a heatwave, so the temperature was extreme, but I felt that this should still be available to use. We had to sleep with the windows open all night. The breakfast we felt was average. We were allowed one hot drink, then had to pay for any extra and my husband ordered a sausage barm that never arrived. We did not use the spa, so couldn't comment on that part. Our friends, another couple staying for the wedding also had similar issues.
Room was nice and big. Good view and facilities with a big bed
Breakfast was excellent
Staff were all very eager to help
The bathroom needed some TLC - gaps between the tiles and could have been cleaned better plus the toilet seat wasn't stable
Lovely massage from Charlotte, great music and products and I feel so relaxed and refreshed. Thanks again
Gorgeous setting. But very disappointing for the money. Our room was tatty, unloved and absolutely boiling. Customer service was average. Good was delicious but expensive.
For £370 a night bed & breakfast for a double room with a pull out bed for my son, I expected a nicer environment than the one we got. We had to sleep with the blind up in order to let some air into the room which was sweltering.
Everything
Nothing
Perfect situation, overlooking the water. Beautiful decor
We stayed for 3 nights and on the first night to say we were impressed would be an understatement. I even tipped the waitress in the restaurant over and above because of how well she looked after us. However nights 2&3 were a different story and we felt almost invisible. We weren’t asked if we wanted drinks, my partner went to the bar and stood and waited some considerable time to be served. It was the same for me when I went to the bar, we weren’t asked if we wanted food etc. This didn’t ruin the weekend by any means, it was a special trip for a special occasion but perhaps some additional customer service skills need to be encouraged for the bar staff.
Also the bed was much to soft but that is just personal preference.
We had the most amazing, relaxing time, made even more lovely, by the helpful staff, especially Archie, Elise & the lovely young lady on the Spa reception (I don't know her name) will definitely be coming there again.
I have visited the Swan on several occasions with both family and friends and we always have a fantastic time. The rooms are great, practical, modern and clean and the food is always excellent. We used the spa again this trip and it is always a great experience. Staff always welcoming and nothing is ever too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for an all round great experience, very handily located too
We are regular visitors to The Swan and our recent visit did not disappoint. Fantastic spa, very comfortable rooms, delicious food and very friendly and helpful staff made it another fantastic stay. We will be back
