This hotel was a beacon in the dark for us. After arriving to our originally planned motel (Gateway Inn & Cabins) and discovering it had been condemned, we were left scrambling to find a place and stumbled across this gem. The receptionists were so lovely, the cabin was cozy and clean, and the amenities were awesome (we particularly loved the sauna!) I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
I made and paid for my 2 days October reservation in May 2025. When checking-in in October, the only person at the reception could not see my reservation paid but was not cancelled. I was asked to pay again in order to be check-in. After that, I was told where to go to find my room at the Alpine Inn Lodge and park my car. From the car park to the lodge's entrance, there is no pathed paths. The only access to the lodge is an open area covered with gravel stones making it impossible to drag or roll our luggage 100m to the lodge's entrance. So, you have to hand carry them over and what worse happened next is there is no elevators. We have to again hand carry our two 25 kg luggage up 2 floors to our room. On opening the door, the room was very small and has nothing other than a bed and a bathroom. The condition of the room definitely needs a good cleaning and maintenance. I guess the management never come to check as the place is remote, and they only have one employee to do everything at the reception that closes at 5 p.m. After my trip, I confirmed with AMEX that Crytal Hotel did charge me in May, and there was a double charge in October. Also, I received a few spams emails imitating Crystal Mountain Hotel's email address. I wrote to Crstal Mountain with all my proofs. Good thing is they responded after 2 days confirming there was a double-bookings on their part and they refunded the payment I made when checking-in to my AMEX card few days later. There was no mentions or explanations how my email was leaked to someone to send me spam emails. Hope the management can be more alert and diligent to possible internal fraud that could get more customers into bigger troubles and inconveniences.
Check in was friendly and welcoming. Was able to check in early to our room. Our room was much bigger than anticipated. Loved the second story loft. The room has three beds plus a pullout couch. Two bathrooms. Full kitchen that included a mini fridge, microwave, oven, and dishwasher. Wifi was good no lagging which was great because there is no cell service. The office has tons of dvds to borrow which was a fun experience for our family. We loved having a wood stove fireplace that made our room so cozy after hiking hours in the snow. We Definitely can't wait to go back.
Great place to get away and relax
Great location, clean but a little outdate. Was a great stay
Very convenient location, close to Mt. Rainier Sunrise entrance. Staff are friendly. Sauna was great after a hard day of hiking. Hot tub was broken but we enjoyed sitting in the warm water anyway. Not enough lighting in the living room area, a bit dark at night. Beds were comfortable. Not enough kitchen utensils, plates and bowls for the 3 of us. Convenient outdoor water bottle station. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.
Great location for the Mt. Rainier area. Cabin like vibe, and spacious rooms, they had everything you need for a great vacay! Pool and sauna were such great amenities.
Can't wait to come back!
This is not a fancy place but a rustic and cozy, a comfortable place to stay. We had a warm welcome from Zach and Dean. TV worked well and bathroom was adequate. We did not use the kitchen except for making morning coffee. It looked to be adequately stocked. We also did not use the pool or hot tub. The sunrise highway entrance is close as is the road to Crystal mountain. It was a nice stay. Thank you
Dumpy rundown property in need of thorough renovation, at a minimum maintenance. Appliances, furniture especially, sofa were in poor shape. One expects a lot better for the high price charged.
The room was filthy - mold in the shower, bugs everywhere, and the couch was stained and smelled of cat pee or mildew, unsure which. And they charge a $25 per night “resort fee” but the pool was covered in algae so unusable, the hot tub was broken, no s’mores fixings like they promised, and no gear library as mentioned on their website.
We got married there 23 years ago and returned for our anniversary and were super disappointed. Save your money and go elsewhere.
This is our third stay at Alta Crystal, the first under Loge. We stayed in the Hawthorne Cabin once again, & found it just as delightful as it was 15 years ago. Comfy king bed up the solid staircase, bath w decent shower. Carpet looks newer. There are hot plates & no oven, but microwave, private charcoal grill, small dishwasher make up for it. Would be nice to have full or 3/4 fridge instead of dorm size (freezer needed dethawing as was thick . Private hot tub w jets that worked on one seat, not the other; much needed relaxation after long hikes. The lid does need to be replaced as it’s waterlogged & extremely heavy. It’s a delight to sit in it & hear the creek. There is a ceiling fan + 2 floor fans. Need screens for the bathroom window & the two tall windows facing the creek, which along w the fridge, caused the 4 instead of 5. Those are easy fixes & wouldn’t prevent our return. Such a convenient, peaceful place. Close to Sunrise.
Props to Mayra & team. Texting & the app are the way to communicate best w the property.
SO close and convenient to the sunrise consider at the national park! The property was nice, the room had everything I needed and more. I had issue locating the map for the property but I was able to easily find my room and move the car to a closer parking spot. I would stay here again!
It was great customer service they were very kind and helpful.
Place was great and well stocked but there is absolutely no grocery store or food around. It would be great if they could have some basic things available through vending machine at least since office area was closed even before 7pm
Great spot close to Mt. Rainier and Crystal Mountain.
This is a beautiful property surrounded by forest. It’s very quiet. You have to read the instructions in detail before you get there. Once you get there, the service is outstanding and it’s very beautiful and quiet.
Dirty and neglected. Stains on bed sheets
Good place to stay. You're kinda out in the middle of nowhere so you have to take that into consideration. It was probably better than we expected though so that's good. Good restaurants up at the ski lodge about 10 minutes up the road.
The staff was friendly and overall stay was great. Very disappointed that the hot tub didn’t work however.
Zach, the property manager, was friendly and accommodating at check in and during our stay. The bed was comfortable and the big fireplace was a nice feature. Bathroom tub was large enough for an evening soak. The place does need updated and they are working on that room by room. A great location for a day out of Sunrise heading to Seattle or Cascades.
