Location
The rooms and location were nice. Vick I believe checked us in. He was nice and quick. Donna checked us out and was very helpful. The housekeeping manager Roberto was great at helping with a situation I’ll add below. Loved the shower and bed was comfortable.
Antika who works the front desk is very rude and unprofessional. She handled several situations poorly including ours. We were suppose to get a king room with the bed on a full wall not the half wall. We dealt with it the first night then requested a move the next day. She insisted it couldn’t happen because housekeeping was gone for the day. I went back up to my room only to find housekeeping in the hall and the housekeeping mgr. He called her and she didn’t answer. He said we could switch no problem and he’d clean our room. Antika insisted she didn’t miss a call. The housekeeping mgr came down and made her switch rooms. The next day the mgr of the hotel Rushabh was there. I told him right in front of her and she proceeded to argue! She even wrote down his number for me the night before but purposely gave me the fax number then lied that she did even though she wrote it on a sticky note. I didn’t like having my bed on a half wall facing the window. I wanted the bed on the full wall but after discussing with the housekeeping mgr he said they only had a few of those rooms. He did then move us to another half wall king room where the tv at least faced the bed better instead of way off to the side of the bed. I would come back again if I knew Antika would be gone. I added the sticky note. I wrote in ink the correct number.
I loved the location and the hotel. Room was beautiful and would stay here again. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Could walk everywhere from hotel. Bed was super comfortable.
Clean and valet guys was extremely nice.
Front desk clerk didn’t speak English well
Debbie at the front desk was phenomenal. Our original room had some AC issues and after calling down to the front desk they promptly moved us into another room.
Debbie's coworker that took over in the afternoon/evening were unimpressive. I had called a few days before checking in to add my friends to the reservation. Upon arrival those changes had not been made, making it difficult for them to seamlessly check in and start the vacation before my arrival. This same person that was supposed to make the edits seemed very timid and afraid of guests, making it difficult to communicate and get a clear answer when we had questions.
The shower floor was dirty and needed a bleaching. The water pressure was TERRIBLE. There were no cups, cotton swabs, or shower cap in the bathrooms. The throw pillows were covered in stains and previous guests' hair.
Location! Very close to everything but far enough away to not have to deal with the crowds.
Water pressure in the shower was extremely low. Toilet was easily plugged and needed to be plunged. They didn’t have someone available to do it so I did it myself. They didn’t offer to change my room but didn’t feel like changing rooms at 1130 at night.
The location was perfect! Literally, right off the interstate. It was on the more calm side of downtown. Walking distance to all the restaurants. The atmosphere was pleasant, breathe of fresh air.I would highly recommend.
DO NOT STAY HERE!
I booked Cambria through bookings.com for June, 4-June 7, 2026. The full stay was deducted form my bank account prior to check in on June 4 (about $850). Two days into my stay, Donna at the front desk called me on the room to confirm my stay was June 4-June 7 because their system said I only had a room for one night. I said this was a mistake and I have email confirmation that my stay was for 3 nights and the full amount was charged to my card. She said she would settle the discrepancy with booking.
Later that afternoon when we arrived back at our hotel room, the key would not work. The front desk clerk, Ankita, said that there was a system error and that we had been checked out after one night and would have to pay $658 for them to open up our door. I showed her confirmation from Booking and from my bank account that I had a reservation for 3 nights and that the ≈$850 had been processed and deducted. She said she understood but we would have to pay again. She reiterated that she would not allow us to retrieve our items including my car keys and my medical equipment until we paid again. After a heated discussion I was about to call the authorities when my travel partner agreed to just pay the additional $658 again while we sorted it out later.
Ankita claimed there was no manager onsite for us to contact and that Donna was not available to speak to.
I apologized to the line of people behind me for holding up the line and the person directly behind us said that they had messed up their stay as well and that’s why they were down there. Bookings.com confirmed that the hotel staff said this happened to several guests and they were all forced to pay again to continue their stay / have their rooms opened.
We are our $1502 for an $844 stay. I truly regret that we paid again and I wished I had just contacted the authorities to see if they would let us retrieve our items. I don’t see how it is legal for a hotel to be able to hold your belongings including medical supplies and car keys hostage. If my friend did not have the extra money, I would’ve had to do this.
I have contacted the BBB, Bookings, and Choice Hotels corporate to seek a resolution.
On top of this, the room was never cleaned and we never received towels.
Nice looking hotel but lacking in some amenities for a family. Had problem with being charged before my arrival as I wanted to change my credit card. I was emailed to check in to make it smoother I stated it would be 630pm arrival and that I would not be charged til I got there. So when we got there money was already taken out of account had to wait for refund while being charged on other card. Still has not been credited back. Hopefully after weekend it will. While there witnessed another situation with someone being charged and their stuff was already in room and their reservation was cancelled by the hotel and they were not going to let them get their stuff and medical supplies out of the room without paying again. Which they couldn't cause their payment was not credited back yet. That is very crappy situation. They don't even know why it was cancelled to begin with. The staff was argumentative with the customers. Manager on duty was not helpful with the situation, they had to ask for higher manager they gave them the phone number cause she doesn't work weekends. Bed was not as plush and was uncomfortable for a luxury hotel. Texted me said if needed housekeeping it was demand. I texted while gone to beach Sat. Asked for towels to be replaced and 5 hours later they had not been replaced when we got back. Had to go to front desk to get them. Hotel was convenient for walking in town and Riverwalk. Parking was convenient across the street. Valet was to expensive per day.
No bath tub
Very pretty and really clean
The hotel we picked couldn’t have been in a better location. We were coming from out of state and did not know where to stay and found the hotel through an Internet search. We were there with our family for our son’s graduation from SCAD. Big shout out and many thanks to the entire staff especially Vic from the front desk and Ricky Ricardo from valet. They were so helpful and friendly to us. They made our experience so much better. Good people make a difference. We would definitely stay there again.
We liked the layout of the room and how spacious and nice the bathroom was
The bed was uncomfortable to sleep on, the pillows were flat. The room was dirty, it looked like nobody swept or vacuumed one area in the room. There was large yellow stain splatters on the curtains. Very visible.
I loved everything about this hotel and staff!! I love the bar and restaurant on site.
Nothing bad to say!
Delicious breakfast with menu selection and table service; not buffet. Price per room for the breakfast is a good value as it includes all guests.
Staff is very courteous and seeks to resolve any questions/issues. Nice snack & drink selections in "mini market" lobby area. Very efficient valet service available via texting.
Parking was expensive @ $40. per night. {Understandable as it's a downtown location) Microwave turntable in room was broken and sliding shower door only stayed closed if we wedged a towel in the track.
