Amazing kind staff beautiful view great food and overall the place i could have chosen! I will be back
Nothing
Everything. People.view. food .room was excellent.
Nothing
The view was spectacular. The breakfast was Mexican style made to order and ok.
Should note the bedrooms are private but it is an outdoor living room.
The road up the hill almost requires a four by four.
La vista ESPECTACULAR
Clean and a good view.
No amenities! No air conditioner, no coffee, no shampoo and no free drinking water. I was going to miss one of our free breakfasts so we arrange the meal for 11. We had to pay for that breakfast and for two glasses of water! Go to a hotel. You will get more for your money.
View, quiet
Ants, tough access to beach
I was looking for an isolated place away from the noise of PV
The hostess Edina was super defensive and became quite mean with me. It ruined the stay for me. First, we had brought a small cooler and she said it was prohibited to have any of our own food and drinks and it clearly stated that in the rules online . “All hotels are like that and obviously I had not stayed in many hotels “. Well be warned that is the policy and there are no rules online. But later when a Mexican couple arrived with their cooler and ghettoblaster playing Banda music .. no problem . The facilities are extremely frugal and we had to ask for a second facecloth . Another hand towel , proper pillow cases and of things normally expected on a hotel she begrudgingly gave it to us . Really disappointed about breakfast . As others had raved about it. When I asked what the beans in the morning had in them , as they were floating in grease, she explained that it was pork fat . I asked if I could have them without all that machaca in future and
she said no way , she had just made a pot that was to last
for the next 4 days . And if didn’t like it too bad . There
are no locks on the doors and the balcony with sea view
which I unfortunately chose because of the fotos had a
tree in front of it and no guard rail and to which Edina
replied caustically of course because plants grow. When she asked how I slept in the morning I said so so because I was going to explain that it was cold ( and there are no extra blankets anywhere ) she snidely remarked .. oh and what’s bothering you now ?? Thank you for your underhanded comments and bitchy remarks Edina .. when I said I wouldn’t be back she said please no , don’t come back . Very unprofessional . Perhaps the reviews that mentioned the great host refer to another person , but definitely , as an experienced traveller and host, I can’t recommend this place as the hostess is a grinch .
Amazing hosts , great meals, privacy and tranquility. A perfect place to relax and recharge. The owners are thoughtful and kind. The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the beach and town.
Breakfast was good. Location for views was great. Hosts were very nice when we did see them on the first day.
The owners dog was let out at 5:30am and barked for 30 mins, waking us up.
There was no hot water in the shower.
There is pool but we could not use it the first day becasue there was a big family there using it on a day pass.
AFter our first night, in the morning there was no power or internet.
The hosts were not there so we could not tell them we were leaving for another property.
The location of this resort is amazing. Definitely, a 4 by 4 is ideal to navigate the surrounding areas, but a regular can can do it. The beauty of this amazing virgen/non commercialized location is worth every penny. The views at all times of day are breathtaking, and the pool is just perfect to cool you down.
Breakfast was incredible. The host has many fruit plants like papaya in her garden and she will serve you all her fruit as part of your breakfast if it is what you like. She was open to cooking for us anything we wanted, and she always surprised us with each breakfast.
The only thing that I can think of to make this place better is to have a fan or air conditioning. However, if you are a nature person like our group. We appreciated the non contamination of the place. Some of us loved sleeping outside and enjoying the sky. We were so lucky to see the Milky Way from this site.
The views from the pool are are spectacular.
The food cooked by the host was delicious.
It has a friendly and cozy environment.
I should have had better protection agains mosquitos.
Loved the location, the view, the quietness. The host was very nice and accommodating.
The property was clean and maintained.
The view was amazing and the room was very spacious.
They advertise that it’s beachfront and it is NOT. It’s at least a 5 minute drive down a very steep road and very elevated. It’s a beach “view”. They also advertise that their restaurant is open from 8am - 10pm. No.
There was only my niece and I and one other couple at the resort. When we arrived there was a soccer game playing (a big one) at the bar close to the pool which was okay. The one other couple at the resort had their speaker at the pool playing mariachi over top of the sports on the tv. We came to Mayto to get away from the noise of PV where I live. We finally left and went down to Hotel Mayto for some peace and quiet and beach “front”. We had a nice dinner there and watched the sunset with our feet in the sand.
When we got back to Villas del Sol around 8pm the place was in darkness. Not a soul to be found. I’ve spent many times in Mayto so I know how cold it gets at night. Our room was spacious but sparse. One light sheet on a small bed for the size of the room; no comforter, zero soap for anything, not even to wash your hands, just sparse really. It was so cold when we decided to go to bed and no one was around that I felt like I was stealing something when I found a blanket that I wouldn’t even call a blanket where they hung all there laundry. The beds are rock hard. My back was wrecked the next day.
And speaking of the next day … we were up early and wanting to hit the road early. Breakfast was included and when we went to the breakfast area there was no one to be found. The nice guy cleaning the pool told us that no one would be around for 10-15 minutes. We decided to leave. As we were pulling out he reminded me we had shared a burger the day before and that we had to pay 🤷🏼♀️ I sincerely forgot but then did pay with a tip. Still wondering why I did that.
