As always my go to place in NY.
Pros:

The ambience, room,staff and location are always welcoming. The comfortable bed was superb.. It's an easy place to be and this time we discovered the 2nd floor terrace. What a great little space to read and enjoy complimentary coffee.

Cons:

The shower is good but the floor outside was always soaked after showering.
I would have liked the table on external 2nd floor terrace to be at least wiped down each morning as it had old food and wrappers left on it from a couple eating there previous night. I appreciate the cleaners role doesn't include that but surely deterring rats etc and making it a clean place to sit would be good.

Lovely stay at the Penny!
Pros:

We stayed in the Queen nice room and it was perfect for us. We loved the fact that it had a kitchenette and the decor was very nice. The bed was very comfortable too! We will definitely stay again.

Cons:

A little pricey but I guess not comparable with most NYC hotels.

Pros:

Extremely well-designed room, comfortable bed and linens, shower, bathroom...ventilation/ac perfect...intuitive and just super well-thought out accommodations. General vibe: organized, employees happy, good place.

Cons:

Only thing was not particularly well sound insulated door with adjoining room...group came home at midnight and had "spirited" gathering...but really didn't interfere with sleep...

Can't wait for my next visit to THE PENNY
Pros:

What a cool hotel. Stayed two nights while moving my youngest into their first NYC apt. Very clean and outfitted. However the BEST thing was the staff. They made me feel so welcome and were SO HELPFUL. I will be back.

Quiet modern oasis
Pros:

We loved our stay at the Penny! We were here for 5 nights for a wedding weekend, and were so comfortable. The room was remarkably quiet, spacious by New York standards, and included a lot of thoughtful extras, like a bathrobe and a kettle and fresh coffee setup. The roof bar / restaurant is amazing as well. We would love to stay here again- having a cool, quiet space at the height of summer in the city made all the difference on our trip! Also, being right in the middle of Williamsburg and near the L/G subway was a perfect home base to get to everything we wanted to do/eat/see.
