Comfortable and beautiful location, great staff.
Pros:

Friendly and helpful staff. The location is great for visiting the Sassi and had a lot of restaurants nearby. Breakfast was delicious and offered some local food lile focaccia. The room was very comfortable.

Pros:

L’hôtel est superbe, tout neuf et d’une propreté irréprochable. La salle de bains est particulièrement réussie, et la décoration, moderne et élégante, a su intelligemment mettre en valeur les anciennes citernes d’eau, si caractéristiques des habitations de Matera. Un très bel hommage à l’histoire du lieu, parfaitement intégré à une architecture contemporaine.

Cons:

Le buffet du petit-déjeuner est malheureusement très limité, avec très peu de choix, aussi bien salés que sucrés. C’est assez surprenant au regard du standing de l’établissement et, surtout, du prix des chambres. J’hésite à employer le terme « médiocre », mais le petit-déjeuner est réellement très en deçà de ce que l’on est en droit d’attendre d’un hôtel de cette catégorie. Heureusement, il est possible de commander des œufs, même si, là encore, l’assiette servie est particulièrement minimaliste.

Autre point décevant : le tarif du transfert entre le parking — lui-même payant — et l’hôtel, que je trouve disproportionné compte tenu de la très courte distance parcourue.

J’ai également été très surprise d’apprendre qu’une simple couverture supplémentaire était facturée 10 €.

Pris séparément, ces détails pourraient sembler anecdotiques. Mais leur accumulation finit par donner le sentiment que chaque service, chaque petite attention, est systématiquement monnayé. Dans un établissement où le prix de la chambre est déjà élevé, cela nuit malheureusement à l’expérience et au sentiment d’hospitalité que l’on attend d’un hôtel de ce standing.

À force de tout facturer, on finit par se demander : où sont passés le sens de l’accueil et celui du service ?
