Rinn Machiya Kuon

It’s a struggle that the toilet is upstairs, but you need to go downstairs to wash your hands, because the bathroom is downstairs. Especially if you are staying more than 2 people. There was a really heavy oily food fan smell coming from outside during the day. We had the windows open so it filled the whole floor. Also, it would be good if you could change the used cups as there is no kitchen sink in the building.

It was perhaps a little too small for our group. Wouldn't recommend if you have lots of luggage. Also 1 toilet is not convenient for a big group. The sink to wash your hands is connected to the toilet, at first it felt weird but then after you get used to it. Cleaning is completed once throughout the stay and this only includes towels and amenities. Usually you expect a full clean I guess this was a little disappointing.

No comfortable chairs: but I suppose that’s the design of the traditional Japanese way without a sofa. As previous reviews mentioned sound travels easily from neighbouring rooms, but were warned about this. Slightly annoying that we weren’t provided with a kitchen sink and facilities to clean cups and cutlery: had to ask and then use bathroom sink.

It was a bit tight for a family of 4. Beds were Japanese style (which I didn’t realise when booking).
Quite noisy from neighbours. Quite pricey for the size.

It would have been good to have soap in each of the toilets, and there was a pink ring around the plug in the main sink. Not a big deal, but not sparkling clean. The table was fine, but there wasn't a nice comfy area to relax after big days of walking.

The noise from every single neighbor we shared walls with was terrible. Loud stomping, snoring, conversations, and more. We could hear every single thing. The two twin beds were not comfortable, either. For adults who don't find it easy to sleep on the mats on the floor in the other room, twin beds aren't the best option, either.

The place itself provided some mugs, glasses, and silverware. However, there was no way to properly clean and reuse them (no dish soap, sponge, kitchen sink) and when room service was completed, all the dirty dishes were still on the table.

While a pretty place, we would not stay here again due to the noise of neighbors and uncomfortable beds.

Unfortunately we got the room beside the road, so it can be a little noisy at night as we can hear people talking or car driving pass.

The washer/dryer doesn't fully dry our clothes when it finish the full cycle. Not sure if it's the design or I don't know how to use it. Other than that everything is great.

Everything was good

Would be useful to have a small dish rack, sponge and dish soap for the dishes provided. They have to be washed in the bathroom sink and there’s nowhere to put them after washing (we bought our own sponge). This would be an inexpensive fix and make a very big difference.
