Outdated and scruffy.
Pros:

I liked the fact that the accomodation was in the heart of Haarlem.

Cons:

The accomodation was scruffy and outdated. The carpet on the stairs was very stale, having that wet dog wiff of it. There is a distinct smell of drains when you first ener the bathroom and the surroundings in the outside seating area reek of drains and are strewn with litter.

Außer nachts haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt .

Zimmer sauber .

Nachts sehr laut . Es lagen schon hörstöpsel auf dem Bett . Das stand leider nicht bei booking .

Amazing location on market place. Fun stairs experience- we saw it as an original Dutch experience not as a negative ( although if you have knee issues or alot of luggage - not a positive)
Very comfortable bed and lovely decorations( blue room) Great view as well.

Cons:

We didn't mind all the regular noise from the plaza below as it just added to the fun atmosphere BUT one night at 3am there was a group of 5 teenagers being extremely rude and loud (singing at the top of their lungs, screaming, chanting- for 1 hour or more ) and there is no reception to go to complain. It was definitely a case of disturbing the peace- we had no one to tell.

We didn't like the fact that there is no reception. You check in at a bar/restaurant that is normally very crowded. The young restaurant staff memebere are all nice and friendly but you are squeezed in between the kitchen/bar and restaurant customers.

Overall lovely experience and hotel!

Pros:

Lovely comfortable room in a perfect central location, staff are brilliant. The rooms are above a nice little cocktail bar/restaurant. Despite being in the main square, we didn't find it too noisy at night but we were provided with earplugs if needed.

Cons:

The rooms are up very steep narrow spiralling staircases, apparently this is very typical for Dutch places but we were not expecting it. It wasn't a problem at all but is worth knowing about if you have mobility issues.

Het was heerlijk! Genoten van Haarlem en elkaar!

De plek is fijn! Op de Grote Markt! Je zat zo in de stad en je dag begon weer goed!

Cons:

Op het eerste gezicht ziet alles er heel goed uit! De foto’s op de site zijn te mooi! En dan in het echt valt het beetje tegen in de afwerking! We zaten in Kamer 1! Kleedje kapot! Wat ik ervoor moet betalen, had je best om een nieuw kleedje gekunt! De hoek bij het koffieapparaat: smerig!
