Good location. Close to reservoir. Food was good. Nice room, better if you can stay at back of hotel.
Breakfast was good but took a while to come
Room was clean, staff were friendly
No lights in room on first evening, lights had fused and no one on site to fix. No wardrobe in room. Hotel was advertised as having restaurant that did evening meals. We stayed 3 nights, kitchen closed at 4pm on 2 nights and wasn’t open at all on the last evening. Hotel was not near any other establishments to get food on an evening, should be advertised as a B&B only
Everything
Nothing
Breakfast was fabulous. staff very friendly and helpful
Room was warm but they provided a fan would have been better if they had provided just a sheet too the quilt was too thick. England football game went off half way through
Lovely room..great view..fabulous breakfast..staff really helpful

The bedrooms were clean and well designed.
Checked it and was told the last dinner service was 5 PM so had to go elsewhere as this was too early. At about 10:30, there was a power cut /surge so the emergency lighting came on in the room and of course the fan stopped working. Had to open the windows wide to get some breeze and relief from the heat. But this meant we were woken up early because of the sunlight so didn’t sleep well. No power meant no TV, no drinks and getting a shower in the dark. Breakfast wasn’t too bad but everyone was talking about the power cut and talking to someone else that stayed the week before as well said he didn’t have a good visit then either as water was flooding the place. Totally tired out so had to go home early as we were too tired to complete our plans.
The breakfast was excellent, really delicious and plentiful!! Had lots of choice and had two different breakfasts each day of our stay!!👍
The area of where the “Jack and Jill Coaching Inn” is in a beautiful, picturesque spot and overlooks a beautiful lake and nearby dam.
The access to our rooms!! We were situated at the very top of the “Jack and Jill Coaching Inn” and had to walk up 31 stairs to get to our room!! If you have any difficulty with mobility issues then this can become a little challenging!! Because of the nature and age of the beautiful building (17th century) there unfortunately is not a lift for people who find the many stairs challenging.
Breakfast was amazing. Robbie is a fantastic chef and a lovely person. We had one evening meal and that was freshly cooked and so delicious.Sam who ran everywhere else was also lovely and both of them worked extremely hard and long hours. Always friendly and helpful.Lovely view over the Dam
Hit and miss with evening meals and bar due to staffing issues but Sam and Robbie let us know about this. It’s a shame as it’s losing business and it’s position is prime.Would have liked to have known how busy (24 hours) the road outside was.In the room there is a green light in the ceiling which is so bright the room is lit up all night and disturbed our sleep. Not comfortable no staff on site overnight.
The room was modern and clean and the staff on duty in the morning were friendly and helpful
We arrived to be greeted by someone doing an impression of a grumpy teenager and to be told (after an 8 hour drive and arriving just after 6pm) that the kitchen had closed at 5pm on a Friday evening! We were then told we would have to drive somewhere to get food and the bar in the so-called "Coaching Inn" would be taking last orders at 9.30. So our plans to have a relaxing meal and drink after a long drive were shattered.
Good food and very helpful staff and service.
Last orders for evening meal was 5pm so quite early, particularly for a Saturday night.
There wasn't a wardrobe or drawers in the bedroom - just 3 hooks - so unsuitable for a long stay.
Just outside Whitby.
Lots of original features
No evening meal
Good room and breakfast (although breakfast wasn't served until 8.15 am)
No evening meal service, which we weren't aware of until the day of our visit. you have to travel by car to get an evening meal as this is a rural location.
Also wasn't aware that breakfast wouldn't be served until 8.15 am. Not a problem on this occasion, but normally would have been problematical
The room was very comfortable, the bed was super soft and everything was very clean.
The staff were extremely helpful.
Breakfast was ok, the toast was just warm bread...
