Wir haben ein Zimmer mit Kingsizebett und Seeblick über booking.com gebucht. Bei der Ankunft wurde uns in ein dunkles Doppelzimmer mit einem winzigen Fenster, Blick hin zu einer nahen Mauer, zugewiesen. Das Fenster konnte nicht richtig geöffnet werden. Wir wollten das Zimmer wechseln. Zum komplett übertriebenen Aufpreis von £ 100 wurde uns dann ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, was wir dankend ablehnten. Das Zimmer was wir gebucht hatten, war nicht mehr verfügbar. Die Nacht in dem kleinen stickigen Zimmer war schlecht. Bezahlt haben wir aber, wie gebucht, den Preis für das Zimmer mit Kingsizebett und Seeblick. Das Nachtessen im Hotel war ebenfalls enttäuschend. Der Seafood-Salat bestand aus einer wässerigen Paste auf welken Salatblättern und die Seafood-Pasta kam mit einer ungewürzten Tomatensauce mit Crevetten und Muscheln, inkl. einer leichten Azetonnote. Der Nachtisch bestand aus einem angebrannten Schokopudding. Der männliche Mitarbeiter/ Receptionist der Hotelcrew war sehr unfreundlich.

We felt we had been duped into accepting a booking for a meal in the Kylesku Hotel restaurant, which was overpriced, and of mediocre quality, especially the lobster which was the most disappointing part of the meal.

We were staying in Kylesku House which had mis- matching pieces of furniture and chairs. Looked like they had been sourced from a jumble sale.Tatty sheepskin rugs thrown over the chairs.
Our room was on ground floor, but had no blinds over the bathroom window. Only one blind worked in our room. Again odd pieces of furniture but no where to hang anything. Instead there was 6 coat hangers placed on hook on room door. Very upmarket.
Had to travel down to main hotel for evening meal, where again we received a rather unfriendly exchange of words with receptionist. What is his problem?
Accommodation was vastly overpriced for what it is.

The hotel was tired - peeling paint on doors etc.

Our room smelt damp - there was black marks and peeling points to the bathroom ceiling and the floor wouldn’t dry.

Fully appreciate it is by the water and ventilation is difficult in midge season. However, all of our NC500 accommodation choices have been on the water and none of the others have had problems.

Our expectation given the price of this one was higher so disappointing.

That said Kylesku was a great addition to our trip.

Staying at Kylesku House was a very disappointing experience. Felt like guests were an inconvenience. Breakfast very disappointing and poor value for money.

One of the senior staff made us feel an inconvenience. But all the other staff were lovely. Small point but both my wife and I experienced it separately and not once!
