Worth the money for the exclusive access to the gardens alone
Pros:

You have the beautiful gardens of 240 acres to wander around once they are closed to the public at 5 pm. The rooms are clean and comfortable and of a high standard.

Cons:

Breakfast is subcontracted to the clocktower cafe which operates hours geared to the general public rather than Hotel guests. The food offering and service was very good though.

Rooms are beautifully appointed. Staff friendly and helpful.
Maple room was lovely. Excellent. Had everything needed. Loved all the extra touches. Old fashioned radio, chocs, shower gel, teas etc

Cons:

Chairs in Rose Bedroom not v supportive and too low down. Wallpaper in bathroom needed attention.

Nice but not worth the money.
Pros:

A very odd hotel! No Bar, restaurant 3 nights a week staff go home at 5pm. If you do choose to stay at this hotel take plenty of refreshments! We paid over £300 a night for a three night stay it was definitely not worth the money. The two staff we did meet were very friendly and helpful.
The housekeeping was very hit & miss.

Decadent and delicious
Pros:

Food at the hotel was exceptional - breakfast was unusual in that it was served to the room in a hamper but full of so many goodies, each more delicious than the last. We managed to make breakfast and lunch out of it for two people each day with plenty left over to take home as well. House was magnificent and grounds - which you are allowed to access for free and after hours as a guest - are truly magnificent. Would 100% visit again.

Cons:

Only downside is that, compared to other hotels of a similar price range, the facilities are limited. No pool, spa, gym, etc. The restaurant also doesn't cater to vegans (though the afternoon tea does - which was excellent.) Other aspects of the house and grounds more than made up for it, imho, but if you're the kind of person who enjoys extensive facilities then it'll be a drawback.
