Wonderful experience from start to finish. Robert was AMAZING 👏

Stayed here many times over the years but this last stay will be my “last stay” unfortunately… the hotel comprises 3 additional properties and pools and doesn’t have the charm of the original grand hotel of years past. So beware of staying in the other bldgs. . Booked the grand but had us stay in the Alcazar bldg ( dirty ,dank and smelly). They reluctantly moved us back to the grand after our dissatisfaction. Sure it was better but the entire place just feels old and tired. To many other nicer - cleaner hotels for the money in Lauderdale!
Checked out today and all I can think about is this Flatbread Pizza and the conversation I had with one of the staff Lloyd whom I thought was a wonderful guy with the hospitality and customer service skills that will make me and my friends come back over and over as I sit here at the airport something he said stuck in my head safe travels is what he said he cared just that much to wish me well. I will definitely be seeing him again

First time visitor. Had reservations based on the recent reviews. Could not fault the service and facilities. From the friendly warm welcome at the front desk to the rest of the staff throughout who couldn’t do enough to make this a truly memorable experience. Special shout out to Matthew who always made the time to stop buy with a cheery good morning as he went about his duties.
I’ve saved the best for last. Paula and Robert in the Spa are exceptional and on top of their game. Within minutes I felt enveloped by the warmth of their hospitality and cannot praise their professionalism enough.
Breakfast was a bonus. Tasty and freshly prepared.

Victor and his team at the front desk were amazing! We have been coming here for many years. New improvements and additions are great! We love the bar and Cafe. All of the staff we had interactions with have such wonderful and upbeat personalities always willing to help. Christian at the front desk, Ivan in housekeeping to name a few of the folks that always made sure we have everything we need. We are excited to see what the future holds for this amazing place.
Not a bad place to stay, but not worth the price. It’s a nice property, but it’s extremely dated and needs an upgrade for the prices they charge. Everything feels quite old. The rooms are spacious but sparsely decorated with paint peeling. Bed is not particularly comfortable. Air conditioner is loud. It’s popular amongst older men probably because it’s one of the oldest gay resorts, but it needs to be upgraded.
His form was confident and firm, he listened to exactly where I said my body was sore going into the massage, and his voice was soothing. Couldn’t have been happier basking in his craft and his energy.

We have been visiting this hotel for over two decades and its lush tropical gardens, pools and quiet places never disappoint. We were delighted that the head housekeeper, Ivan, was still here after twenty years and continued to care for our every need. The Grand remains a wonderful escape from the cold snowy north.
Robert gave me the best Swedish massage I’ve ever had. He expertly targeted all the pressure points in my sore areas. I highly recommend it!
Robert has some amazing hands 5stars on the spa
We’ve been coming here for several years. And we’ve watched this place slowly decline. Spend your gay dollars elsewhere. It’s overpriced mediocrity. The rooms are tired, the mattresses are old. The “breakfast” has gone down hill. They allowed smokers to smoke beyond the smoking area. There is no charm to this place. And now parking is $30 a night, to park on the street. It’s been bought up by straight real estate investors from Israel and they are bleeding it dry. They will eventually tear it down and build expensive housing. And finally, gay men should not be traveling to Florida, which has a governor and legislature that is openly anti-gay. Go to Mexico or one of the Caribbean islands.

Paula's facial was top notch. I feel like I have brand new skin and Robert's massage was one of the best I've ever had. He took care of all the problem areas I've been having and found some that I didn't even know were there. I definitely will be booking this experience every time I visit Fort Lauderdale!!!
I had an excellent deep tissue massage with Robert at the Grand. He was able to work through some very tight pain points, which definitely a relief. To me the end result is the real test, and I left feeling so relaxed yet energized.
Had a fantastic stay here with great friends from home and made more while here! The hotel is super clean and comfortable and in a great location close to the beach! The staff is amazing and really go out of their way to make you feel valued and comfortable, especially Christian P. - what a great trip!!!
Robert is a sensational massage therapist.
Wow. I did an 80 min deep tissue massage with Robert. Professional and friendly guy with very strong hands and forearms. If at any point his hands got tired, I didn't notice. He was also able to work around the plates and screws in my leg (old sports injury) and my ticklish toes. My IT bands resisted but he persisted. A perfect way to destress and relax after a long, moderately turbulent flight.
The general facilities were also nice. Calm, relaxing music, right temperature, heated table, soft linens and towels. Would definitely repeat.
