I was only meant to stay for two days… somehow, two days turned into more than a week, and I think that says everything about the ambience of this place. From the moment you walk through the doors, there’s a warmth and character that makes you want to linger. The building has been beautifully decorated with the work of local artists, Scottish memorabilia, and little pieces of history and personality tucked into every corner. Nothing feels generic or manufactured; it feels authentically Scottish, welcoming, slightly quirky, and full of stories. There’s an atmosphere here that is difficult to put into words — the kind of place where you settle in, exhale, and suddenly realise you don’t particularly want to leave. I arrived expecting a hotel for two nights and somehow found a place that felt a little like home. ❤️
I did not realise on a Saturday night the chef gets to take the night off so I missed out on there amazing food that night.
De bar
Good location
Extremely tired and dated place. In need of serious investment. I booked a double room and was taken to a house property behind the hotel. It was damp, tatty and felt like a children’s home from the 80’s. Room was depressing and bed uncomfortable. Staff weren’t very helpful. Had to wander round hotel searching for a staff member to check in. Place needs shut down. This place cost us a fortune and was barely worth £30 a night. Sadly it was much much more expensive and simply not worth it - I’m so sick of highland hotels thinking they can screw folk for substandard accommodation- this is one of them.

Location
The room was very dated and the the facilities within room where average.
Friendly atmosphere, wonderful staff. Most gracious young man running bar and restaurant. Mr Fraser oversees a very warm and welcoming hotel.
Lokatie
Deurpasjes die niet werkte en iedere keer opnieuw geprogrammeerd moesten worden. Te harde matrassen.
Location and any staff I interacted with were very friendly. Very quaint surroundings
I’m not sure where the noise was coming from but the music was very loud. My first two nights (Thursday/Friday) the music was continuous until 11.30 but Saturday night the music started later, was much louder and went on later. It was thump thump music and quite annoying
This was a return visit and we were not disappointed.
It was a pity that the restaurant was fully booked as the menu looked good.
Great location friendly staff
The staff were incredible, rooms were very comfortable and food was lovely
Staff were very helpful though slightly understaffed I’d say.
Check-out time of 10am is a tad too early, midday I feel is more favourable for me.
Don’t listen to bad reviews property is very dated but thats what we loved about it. We felt we was having the propper highland experience
