A gem in Pondy for location and comfort!
Pros:

It was a beautiful, historic setting that exceeded expectations for boutique hotels in India. The staff were excellent, so responsive! The food was among the best meals we ate in our stay in India. It was so cosy to come home to and the pool was an absolute pleasure after very long and hot days! I will definitely return here if in Pondy.

Cons:

It was our first time to India, and realizing that things are not new and there is a lot of construction everywhere took some getting used to! But the Grand Hotel was clean, very cool for sleeping and so welcoming.

Pros:

The aesthetics of the hotel are well done. It does give colonial vibes, but at the same time doesn't fail to feel modern. The artwork on the room wall was a good touch. The marble flooring hit the right notes. Overall I enjoyed staying here a lot.

Pros:

a big shout out to Miss Maheshwari and her team for being professional and courteous and Miss kamali for being informative about the history of the building. And the chef was too good. However the management apply shortcuts for some dishes like Thai green curry where they put pre packaged powder which does not show the reputation of the restaurant MIRA

Pros:

Feels very calm as soon as you enter the property. The aesthetics and interiors are amazing. Entire staff is very accommodating and helpful. Food is fantastic. Rooms are spacious and well planned. We had a toddler with us and got a comfortable baby cot. Restaurant accommodated custom requests for baby food. Overall great calm vibes and cozy stay. Pool was also clean and nice. Location is great too!

Great place for a family vacation.
Pros:

The location is near the Promenade , a lot of cafés and also convenient for shopping. The property is clean and the service is good. The restaurant food was also delicious.

Cons:

No proper parking available. Parking is on the road. Not many facilities other than a swimming pool.

My first stay at Pondicherry was worthwhile staying here
Pros:

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, and the staff truly made the experience special.

A special mention to Preeti, Santosh, and Zaid at the reception , who were extremely helpful, friendly, and courteous throughout our stay. Preeti deserves a special mention — she is always smiling, incredibly kind, and genuinely willing to go out of her way to help guests.

I would also like to specially appreciate the female server at the restaurant (unfortunately, I didn’t get her name). Since the breakfast buffet was not available the day we checked in , she went out of her way to organize a breakfast buffet the next day , That thoughtful gesture really stood out and showed how much the staff cares about their guests.

The rooms are good and comfortable, but the location is undoubtedly the best part of the hotel — very convenient and hard to beat.

Overall, a lovely experience, made even better by the wonderful staff. I Would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again!

Tolle Lage, schöne Stadt, kulinarisch sehr gut!
Pros:

Ein schönes Hotel in guter Lage. Mann befindet sich im französischen Quartier und erreicht das Meer in wenigen Minuten. Besonders haben uns die vielen französisch geprägten Restaurant gefallen.

Cons:

Das Frühstück könnte etwas mehr international ausgerichtet sein. Ansonsten passt alles!
