In our room, the mattress was VERY soft and gave no support. In general, though the guy behind the bar was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was dead. We met one other member of staff who, when we entered the 'restaurant' to have an evening meal, was sitting at a table staring into the distance. The menu had little to commend it and in the end we just ordered a wrap with salad, determined not to risk breakfast there on the morrow Everywhere we looked there were seats and little tables but no customers, although the carpark had ten cars in it. I think Charlton 'Boutique' Hotel is misleading. It's a place waiting for the hordes to descend on it; maybe sometimes they do!; maybe it comes alive then?

I did not like the contactless check in process. We did not see any staff during our visit at all. This was not an inexpensive option but no hositality at all.

Room was a little dusty, and room door needs adjustment as tricky to open and close, was a bit noisy if you have window open but I suppose it’s next to a main road so should expect this

There's no reception - checkin via code. The dinner in the restaurant was really bad so we decided not to buy any breakfast but to buy a sandwitch at the opposit supermarket.

We ended up in the “attic” room and my husband is 6’2” so wasn’t ideal since the roof was slanted inward both in the bedroom area and bathroom. It was also very warm. The menu is limited as were the drinks.

Not really my idea of a boutique hotel .. some of the furniture I.e wardrobe and bedside drawers were clearly upcycled. Lack of plug sockets by the desk, for some reason there were 2 headboards to the bed, bed was quite low. Shower head kept falling out of its holder …. TV worked fine but it was quite small..

back table and black cups - impossible to see what you are doing. odd assortment of furniture.
towel shelf in bathroom above the sink too deep - and over hung the basin which meant the possibility of banging your head on it when cleaning teeth was likely.

It is contactless which feels a bit unsocial. Road was a bit noisy. Although the shower is very smart,it’s a bit like showering in the rain. Not much flow to it.. very hot

Wenn man Cheltenham selber besuchen will ist es doch weit draussen und die Busse fahren maximal all paar Stunden. Für einen Stop auf dem Cotswolds Way aber gut gelegen.
