We had a few dozen guests stay at Mondrian for our daughter's wedding and were very pleased. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful to all. The courtyard coffee shop and bar/restaurant was great for gathering, and the neighborhood is lovely and convenient. There are more cafes and restaurants than you could ever enjoy, plus parks and shops within short walks.
What a lovely hotel! We loved our 8 night stay at Mondrian Mexico City. The hotel is in a great, walkable neighborhood. Rooms are nicely appointed and updated. Staff are all so friendly and helpful, and the coffee shop and hotel restaurant are great.
The real standout of our stay was the concierge, Gustavo. He went above and beyond both before and during our trip to make sure we had the best time possible. From arranging airport transfers, to scoring us a reservation at Contramar, from asking about our adventures every time we saw him, to going all out to help us get tickets to a Diablos Rojos game, Gustavo is a true gem. He made this trip truly unforgettable.
We will absolutely be back to CDMX and will surely chose Mondrian as our home base.
Location good, clean rooms and staff although rushed at times were lovely. Easy to organise Ubers as they can pull in and drop off easily.
The breakfast is not a 5* offering, no fresh juices, terrible coffee etc..
While the hotel’s website suggested an experience suitable for international travelers, that was not reflected during my stay. Communication was limited, as staff—including the concierge—only spoke one language, which made it difficult to get assistance. Unfortunately, the concierge was also unable to provide helpful information regarding local tour bus options.
In addition, the front desk staff was consistently rude across multiple interactions and at different locations within the hotel, which made routine requests uncomfortable and unwelcoming.
From a facilities standpoint, the room did not meet expectations. The towels were worn, the shower water was consistently cold, and the toilet paper holder was broken. In-room amenities were minimal, and access to the pool—implied on the hotel’s website—was not available.
We did, however, receive exceptional service in the coffee shop, the bar, and from the valet staff. Their professionalism and friendliness stood out and were greatly appreciated.
Overall, the stay fell short of what was advertised, particularly for guests who may be traveling internationally or expecting basic comfort and service standards.
Hotel is nice, rooms are nice and big, but treatment of loyal member is poor compared to other hotels
I will preface that my feedback will include details that are tied to AmEx, since this property is a part of their Hotel Collection. There are many positives to this hotel, if you want to stay in a prime location and want to support the local economy. The Mondrian Mexico City Condesa is situated in a neighborhood with easy access to everything you may need on a trip. With AmEx, there are benefits for certain members such as: complimentary breakfast for two, experience credit, and early check-in/late check-out. I will note that the complimentary breakfast only includes their buffet. Since I have some dietary restrictions, it was a challenge to get full from the available selections. I wish there were more options for people who don’t like eggs or who are lactose intolerant; however, there is fresh fruit and a chia seed pudding that can satisfy you. Additionally, the quality of the room isn’t at a standard that I’ve experienced from other 5-star hotels. There aren’t enough vents in the bathroom and drainage in the shower could use some reengineering. The robes are tiny, if you wear a size medium or larger, and their mini fridges don’t get cold enough to store food and drinks properly. On the contrary, the staff more than make up for what the building itself lacks. From the front to the concierge, there’s a willingness to make your experience at the hotel as pleasurable as possible. The concierge would help you locate a doctor, if you need medical assistance. Any concerns that I brought to the staff’s attention was addressed with swiftness and care. When you dine at the La Terraza, the team will know you by name and care for you. A special shout out to Angela for her exceptional care and attention to every guest that comes her way. She treated me with kindness and generosity, which has been the case for all of the La Terraza staff. Overall, it’s a good hotel to stay if it’s your first time in CDMX and try to support the local economy where you can.
Excellent location in Condesa, with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars in easy walking distance, but still quiet area and very green. Hotel is very clean, staff are very friendly and helpful. Concierge services really helped organize trips and provide advice, especially Gustavo was very responsive.
Beautiful hotel and the staff is incredibly accommodating. The location is perfect and walkable or a very short ride to anything you could you could want or need.
I removed a star because I stayed with friends and there is absolutely no privacy in the room. The bathroom door and shower doors are see through just colored glass. To top it off our room had a large mirror next to the tv but the mirror just reflected the bathroom and shower doors so you couldn’t watch tv while someone was using the restroom or shower. It would probably be fine for a couple but it was mildly uncomfortable for us.
Also restaurant inside does not have a ton of vegetarian options.
We arrived at the MondrianWe had a fantastic stay at the Mondrian Mexico City Condesa and would absolutely stay here again. My girlfriend and I loved the clean, comfortable room, great water pressure, beautiful view, and the mechanical window worked perfectly.
The hotel’s interior design is outstanding, and the rooftop restaurant has a really cool, hip atmosphere with excellent food. Breakfast was also very good, and the spa massage was a highlight of the trip.
What really made our stay exceptional was the concierge team. They were fantastic—helpful, thoughtful, and full of great recommendations for things to do around the city. They even got us second-row tickets to Lucha Libre at a great price, which ended up being one of our favorite experiences. Their service truly elevated the whole trip. Highly recommend.
If you stay here, be prepared to have your standards ruined for all future hotel experiences. Thomas was absolutely incredible from the jump, but Angela is on another level. I’m 90% sure she can read minds because she anticipated what I needed before I even knew I needed it. If going "above and beyond" was an Olympic sport, Angela just took home the gold, the silver, and a corporate sponsorship. Give these two a raise immediately before a rival secret agency recruits them.
Concierge was so helpful; assistant manager was wonderful. My daughter ended up with what appeared to be a nail in her toe. Assistant manager came running with a doctor.
She researched out the item and it was from a broom. Wasn’t an actual needle. So professional!! Really
Great
it is impossible to get your invoice after you leave. if you need your invoice ask them to print it. The hotel will never answer you again after you leave
We had a great time. Juan Carlos was especially helpful and very kind. He was able to help us make a change in our reservation and was very knowledgeable,
Overall had a great stay. The staff was excellent - especially David the porter and Jesus and Angel at La Terrezza. The hot water in the shower was a little finicky but very comfortable bed. TV was a good size and had Chromecast. There's a convenience store right across the street so was easy to get snacks and drinks.
I came to Mexico City to celebrate my birthday and stayed at the Mondrian with my husband. I wanted to check it out because I love their LA location. The hotel is very chic and clean. I really enjoyed how central the location is and how walkable it is to many cafés and restaurants around the area. I will definitely be back! I also want to give a shout out to Isaac. He was great at giving me birthday recommendations. Thank you, Mondrian team!
My partner and I really liked the Mondrian. It’s in a fantastic location, close to cafes and great restaurants and the park and Walmart. Lobby is beautiful, staff at check in were super helpful and Isaac went above and beyond to do a little treat for my partner’s birthday (thank you Isaac!). Our room was great (other than the very thin windows so you can hear everything that’s going on outside like it’s in the room, even at 3 or 4am). Fitness centre is fantastic - has everything you’ll need. And the included breakfast is perfect, has everything from cut fresh fruit to made-to-order omelettes. Staff were really friendly through out our staff - thanks everyone!
Wonderful experience. A special shout out to Eric who was our bar tender. Fantastic visit.
The property was great. It was an excellent location. I really enjoyed the entire experience. The staff was amazing. They were receptive and they were accommodating.
There were some equipment and features in the hotel room that were outdated and needed to be updated and I think as long as they give it a good update there shouldn’t be any issues.
This was the perfect place for me to be on my first visit to Mexico City! My best friend and I booked here for a few days for my birthday and it was lovely! Central location, gorgeous grounds, great buffet breakfast (many fail here, but it was valid!!) a clean room and a pleasant staff. I think everyone greeted us with a smile and was always happy to help. I do have to shoutout Isaac who a Guest Experience Expert at the hotel and he was fantastic! He gave us dinner and lounge recommendations and even helped us with reservation that was on our list. He made sure that we were having a great stay and a great time in Mexico City - like literally went above and beyond - so thank you so much Isaac! The area of Condesa/Roma Norte is so easy to walk through and I was glad that staying here made it easy to explore. With all of that, I will absolutely be back. Thank you to the whole staff, the birthday girl (me) was very happy!
Excellent team, super helpful and responsive. Good rooms and nice breakfast.
