Overall an alright stay
Pros:

The Bull is a quaint old pub, which is nicely situated in Battle. There is no parking but there is a public car park a few minutes walk away. It’s a busy pub with a friendly feel. It has a nice restaurant area. Breakfast was lovely as was the chap who served it. He was friendly/helpful and informative. On the landing outside the rooms is a constant supply of toiletries, water, tea/coffee and biscuits, toilet rolls, which you can help yourself too, I found that too be a great idea, you don’t have to keep seeking out staff if you need a re supply of items. With regards to the
pub itself it was a good a stay.

Cons:

I’m afraid regarding the accommodation that was a little disappointing. Going up to the accommodation from the bar, was a dismal experience and not inviting at all. It was very dark and scruffy, with items around the bottom stairs, which gives it an air of things just having been left there. The area outside the rooms was equally uninviting.
I found the room furnishings to be dated, it had antique style furniture that was scratched etc. which didn’t give the room the feel that I think was intended. There was only one bedside table lamp? It was an incredibly hot room and despite leaving a window open and having a fan, in this current heat it was unbearable. I’m not suggesting that the weather was the fault of the pub, far from it, but an additional fan would have been very welcome, but there were none.
Apparently there should have been welcome pack in the room detailing WiFi etc. so I had to go back down to get WiFi details, only to be told well there should be a welcome pack in the room! These are not major issues - but with a bit of attention to detail it could be an all round better experience.

Brilliant little find, great location, friendly hospitality from the staff and overall it was great
Pros:

Really nice stay for the night, staff were friendly, room was clean and tidy and very spacious. Breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced.

Cons:

There wasnt anything about the stay that we didnt like.
