Awful experience.
Pros:

Excellent location

Cons:

Zero sleep. Noisy electric water pump constantly turning on and off above my bed. En-suite electric shower only supplying cold water. Awful pillows. Broken light at the headboard. Paper thin walls meaning even low-level conversation from adjoining rooms is heard. Constant noise from people either returning from the bar, or getting up to go for early flights. Nobody on reception to complain to. Management refused to accept any fault on their part.

Okay for 1 night stay, close to the NEC
Pros:

Staff were okay. Breakfast was okay. Price was okay. Free wi-fi was excellent. Parking on-site was excellent ( but cost £7). Shower was good. Hot shower. Tea coffee facilities were okay.

Cons:

Room 17 The corridor to the room was VERY dark. There is a light sensor at the end of the corridor, but it does not come on until you walk down the corridor, so it not easy to lock the room door in the darkness. ( normal mortice lock). The room was okay when i arrived in the afternoon,, but it was cold by the evening. Heating did not come on. I had to close fully the toilet/shower room door, as there was a small window that would close. It blew a cold draft into the bedroom. The bedside light did not come on, so i had the main lights on for reading when in bed. The sink in the bedroom had one of those push down plugs and push again let the water out. This plug would not stay down so the sink did not fill with water for a shave. I could have complained, but i didn't as I was only there for one night

My first impression that evening: there was some burnt-on residue at the bottom of the kettle left by the previous guest. The mattress was comfortable. The corridor door slams shut with a loud bang; the sound is harsh, sharp, and unpleasant. It actually has a handle that works, but I suppose most guests either don't have arms long enough to reach it or can't turn their necks to look behind them and realize there is a handle on the other side meant to be used. The bathroom toiletry holder still contained soap residue left by the previous guest. As is proper, I greeted the lady who prepared and brought out breakfast with a "Good morning," but she responded only with a grunt. That concludes my observations. I am grateful to the owners who have run—and continue to run—this hotel for so many years. It is a commendable service to their fellow human beings. Namaste.

Ideal hotel when flying from Birmingham Airport
Pros:

Staff were very friendly. Quick check in but all information given. Rooms were quiet so a good nights sleep. Bar and dining room for evening meal and breakfast. Car park good. Excellent location to Birmingham Airport. Definitely use again for a Birmingham flight.

Disappointed
Pros:

We chose to eat out.
Handy for NEC

Cons:

Very little room to move around in.
No bedside tallble on one side
Tiny toilet.
Horrid curtains. Nets too short and curtains dark blue and difficult to open and close.
£7 a day in cash for parking.
The room wasn't serviced for day 2 so we had to ask for tea bags and milk.and towels.

No toilet roll on the holder, I asked for it but never got it. Bought my own, how terrible.
£15 for a Gin and tonic from the bar (double)
Floors creaked. This Isnt a hotel, its a hostel dressed up as a hotel. Shower defective, eather freezing cold or too hot to stand under. Easily the worst hotel Ive ever stayed at. Thank god i didnt eat there, as I viewed those who did eat, never finished their meals. I did speak to management about my concerns,,not interested. Says it all.

this is purely from a cleaners perspective.
when we went into our room.
Beds were neatly did,
not a problem.
The sink and bath had little bits in that i had to clean. the taps weren’t buffed up & there was hard water, when there is hard water, so much more bacteria stays on even when you clean it. if you clean it with the proper cleaning products, this would be off in seconds.
2 the boiling water. the plug wasn’t attached to the beady string thing, when i went o turn off the water, it was way too hot so i couldn’t my partner over and his arm was red raw and had to fill up the sink with cold water. for Children to mess around and be quite compulsive, this is a red flag for me.
i have no issue with anything else. however whoever does the breakfast, is a little quiet and makes it awkward. she did do a lot for us however we felt as if our appreciation didn’t go through. the man who seen to us to start with was pleasant and respectful.

I had a very relaxing stay and used their £10 late checkout.
Pros:

The hotel room was tired but very clean gave me everything I needed for an overnight stay.
The staff were exceptional. I arrived just before closing time very tired and hungry after a days travel. They didn’t have a vending machine but offered to cook me something off the menu. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was superb.
I would not hesitate in staying there again.
