Burdock Hotel Istanbul, Autograph Collection

The location was really good and the staff, especially the front office, are extremely friendly and super helpful.

Perfect location, beautiful spa, big pool. The best about this hotel is the service. Special thanks to Kaya, she made our stay really enjoyable, and Gulnar from spa, for taking great care of my mom. I really recommend to order Hammam ritual and especially massage with her! Thank you ladies for being so professional and attentive to your guests ❤️

This hotel is one-and-done for me and I am very unlikely to return.  It looks more interesting than the boring Marriotts Sheratons or Deltas, but it's Autograph brand so I must compare with the other Autographs I have stayed in Istanbul, and also Design + Tribute brands; of the 8 hotels of these brands that I have stayed in Istanbul before, I rank Burdock dead last because it's not nearly as wow or memorable in terms of style. 

The second issue is that this hotel is not nearly as generous with upgrades for Bonvoy members. The positive about the "Grand Deluxe" room we received is that it looks like a suite because the living room is separate.  But the positives end there.  We had a wall-facing room on the first floor, it's as close as you can get to a window-less room.  Such a tragedy in a hilly city like Istanbul with so many hotels with postcard views.  Also the floor is some cheap vinyl which has been poorly installed because it "bubbles up" so when we walk the floors sinks in at various places in the room.  This is the perfect example of why I like to try hotels for one night only before committing for a longer stay later on.  I can weed out the bad apples easily. We had this poor room assignment not because the hotel was full, but because they told me they upgrade to suites only if a client burns a "Nightly Upgrade Award" from their account.

It is in huge contrast at some other hotels in Istanbul they roll out the red carpet for Bonvoy Ambassador Elite guests and put aside a great suite for us, sometimes even when the hotel was full for example at our latest stay in Orientbank Hotel or the 2-bedroom suite at Casa Foscolo. Of course Burdock is free to assign whatever room they want to their guests, it's not my call to make. My call is rather to decide to go where we are treated best, and it's not at Burdock. In fairness a non-Bonvoy guest might find this hotel suitable but even then in a city shock full of great hotels this is still not the one I would recommend to such people.

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (May 27–29, 2026).

During my stay, I left my bag with the hotel, trusting that my belongings would be kept safe. Unfortunately, my glasses (worth approximately $500) were stolen after my bag was left in an area accessible to other guests.

📹 The hotel reviewed the CCTV footage and confirmed that another guest opened my bag and took the glasses.

❗ The hotel’s response was simply to place the guest on a blacklist.

❗ No compensation was offered.

❗ No meaningful resolution was provided.

I find it unacceptable that guest belongings were not stored in a secure location. If you plan to leave luggage or valuables with this hotel, make sure they are properly secured and do not assume they will be protected.

Very disappointing experience.

Awesome staff at the restaurant! Stayed here during the Parkour World Cup and the service team was very good (8/10). Super friendly, quick, and welcoming every single day. Definitely made the trip better. Special regards to Erdem Canan Sefer Yusuf Burak Levent Abdullah Yagiz Tugce and Halil

Restaurant, excellent: Breakfast staff learned, the first day, my room number, my lactose intolernt diet and my wife´s caffeine free diet. The kitchen staff even prepared for me the second and third breakfasts lactose free pancakes (with admond milk).
One night I had dinner and the personnel there were vary kind.

This is the second time we have stayed at The Burdock Hotel in Istanbul. We were welcomed back warmly like old friends. My husband was ill and all the staff were very kind and caring and went above and beyond in their care assistance. All our needs were met - even special food was prepared and delivered to our room for my husband. Our room was immaculately serviced daily. Thank you to Nuray Karaca for her wonderful attention to detail in her housekeeping. I indulged in a Special Package at the Hotel Spa, enjoying a luxurious hamam and spa treatment. Highly recommended! Shout out to the exceptional staff on the Breakfast Crew, namely Canen, Lale, Can and Milrap and also the exceptional staff on the Dinner Service. I highly recommend The Burdock Hotel for its facilities, beautifully appointed rooms, excellent service and professional and friendly staff. You won’t be disappointed!

The Burdock hotel offered IMO an excellent walkable location for a hotel NOT in old town. If I were to visit Istanbul again as a visitor I would choose a hotel in OLD Town. This hotel would be a perfect location if you were heading to the cruise terminal. The neighborhood has many restaurant/bars within easy walking distance and beautiful upscale outside mall in the cruise port area.

It is a small hotel with an excellent bar and restaurant. The front desk/reception was staffed by some of the friendliest helpful folks I have ever encountered!

The room was typical of the European small square foo area but the use of available space was excellent. We were on the 7th floor street side and it was quiet. We heard no noise from neighboring rooms. There was a welcome fruit basket in our room. I forgot to go and look at the indoor pool and spa area.

Included breakfast was very good and the omlet station served perfectly prepared eggs.

Impossible to fault this hotel it was a delight! Every staff member genuinely and happily cared about us and could not have provided better service. The room was comfortable, clean and beautifully appointed - everything worked and was easy to find. Location is a short walk to trams and the harbour with plenty of local shops and alternative eating options but unsurprisingly the in-house restaurant was excellent! Thank you Burdock Hotel we’ll be back :)
