Do check the area before booking. You feel unsafe after dark, street looks run-down and all guides warn you about the square, train station and the problematic streets - all surrounding your area. The walls are thin. The breakfast is small (omlet from 2 eggs, mini croissant, mini bread, 1 slice cheese, 1 slice ham, minni chocolate pastry, jam, 2x butter) and the delivery time is around your selected period. For us it was always 15min before. But the delivery person was always very nice.

There are various issues I noticed which I do not want to list here, as I do not want the review to be removed because of them. These would concern the location and also the toilet area. However, the worst issue is the cockroach infestation. This became apparent when we returned to the hotel room in the evening and saw a cockroach running through the room (a photo is attached as proof). After speaking with the hotel service - which already proved difficult - a possible infestation was first denied and we were then directly informed that the hotel does not offer refunds. Afterwards, when it was mentioned that there were photos of the cockroach, they tried to make us believe that we may have brought it in from outside ourselves. That alone is outrageous enough. When we asked if we could have another room or if someone could come by and remove the cockroach, we were told that there were no other rooms available and that nobody would come by that evening anymore. So we were expected to spend the night with the cockroach. Anyone familiar with cockroaches knows: where one cockroach is visible, many more are hidden in the room as well. After contacting Booking, we were informed that we could also leave the hotel and that part of the money for the night would then be refunded. We then did exactly that. A counteroffer - after the hotel received a call back from Booking - for an alternative Airbnb on the southern outskirts of Athens was rejected by us. We therefore had to find a new hotel ourselves during the night and at our own expense. The following day, the hotel again expressed its regret and politely asked us not to mention the incident in the review, which I politely declined out of fairness to other tourists. Additionally, the way the situation was handled by the staff was completely unacceptable and showed no concern for guest safety, hygiene, or basic customer service expectations. We felt abandoned with the issue and left entirely without any proper assistance.

The building and room was well designed, and perfect for my stay

An die Lage muss man sich gewöhnen. Es ist in einem eher armen Viertel von Athen. Es besteht kein Grund zur Sorge vor Kriminalität, aber es ist gewöhnungsbedürftig als Tourist. In dem Viertel werden gerade viele neue Hotels und Restaurants eröffnet, daneben und dazwischen sind Arme und auch Obdachlose Menschen.
Habe mit mehreren Athenern darüber gesprochen. Es besteht kein Grund zur Angst, aber wer es für den Weg in die Stadt die 150m (danach kann man auf die Hauptstraße wechseln) nicht sehen möchte, der kann auch problemlos für sehr wenig Geld in die Stadt und aus der Stadt nach Hause mit dem Taxi fahren (App benutzen, dann sind die Preise fix).
