Extremely unpleasant stay — sewage smell and unbearable noise

This was one of the most uncomfortable hotel stays we have experienced.

We could already smell a strong sewage odour while walking from the carpark towards the hotel lobby, which gave us an unpleasant first impression. Unfortunately, the smell did not stop there. It continued inside the hotel room
and was particularly noticeable around our room and the surrounding area. I even tried spraying perfume in the room, but it did absolutely nothing to mask the odour. The smell was so persistent that it kept me awake and even woke my husband from his sleep.

To make matters worse, we stayed on Level 3 in a room facing the carpark, directly above the area where there is a Thai provision shop and restaurant on the ground floor. The noise travelling up to our room was unbearable. We could hear loud talking and shouting, what sounded like people fighting, and even bottles breaking. It was extremely disruptive and certainly not the environment one expects when paying for a hotel room to get a decent night’s rest.

Between the sewage stench and the commotion outside, getting any proper sleep was almost impossible. These were not minor inconveniences - they affected the most basic expectation of any hotel stay: a clean, comfortable and peaceful place to rest.

Unfortunately, our experience was anything but that.

Pros:

The location is great and the rooms are quiet and very clean. Fulfils all expectations. The complimentary are sufficient and staff is very friendly. There are near 24 hours mini marts, local restaurant just down stairs.

Cons:

No facilities like a gym, business center or a bar/restaurant. Not that I was expecting anything so was not disappointed.
