Exceptional
Pros:

Location was great - close to cultural sites and business (I was travelling for the latter). Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. I stayed with a colleague, with whom I had also stayed at another hotel nearby - which is the kind we would usually stay at, with a more corporate/conference feel. We both agreed KGH Patan was a lot better ;-)

Cons:

I have no complaints or identified improvements. The breakfast is simple, but that is also a reflection of that this is a guesthouse. I think the place perfectly meets and at times exceeds expectations.

Quiet and convenient, but bare rooms.
Pros:

Great quiet neighbourhood, if a little hard to find. Located next to the Ganesh and Chamundeshwori temples and a little neighbourhood pond/tank. Lovely little library, accommodating staff.

Cons:

All the lower floors have windowless rooms, while the upper floors don't have air conditioning. I swapped for a higher room, but it was bare, no personal touches. Breakfasts were spare and ran out quickly. I'd recommend the original KGH in Thamel for more of a vibe.

Pros:

The rooms and the main hall were super nice. Staff was helpful and polite. They have managed to keep the traditional look of the house while making it modern and nice looking.

Pros:

The highlight of my stay, however, was the staff's attention to detail and exceptional service. They were always available to help with any request, whether it was arranging transportation or providing recommendations for local attractions.

Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way possible and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly exceptional stay.
