We had a mixed stay at Taj Amer. On the positive side, the hotel itself is tastefully designed with gorgeous interiors. The breakfast spread was truly excellent, and the rooftop swimming pool is spotlessly maintained, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

A huge mention goes to the wonderful staff who made a real difference: Shashi, the restaurant manager, was exceptionally kind and went out of his way to arrange breakfast in our room when my wife was feeling unwell. The housekeeping team was equally thoughtful, personalizing our stay with sweet notes and warm hospitality.

Unfortunately, the front desk service fell short of expectations. When we reached out to them requesting a simple paracetamol tablet for my wife, we were completely ghosted and received no follow-up.

While the property, dining, and housekeeping team are top-tier, the front desk responsiveness certainly needs improvement to match the standards expected of a luxury stay.

Cons:

Dreadful check-in experience completely ruined our arrival

After a exhausting day of travel, all we wanted was a swift, seamless check-in. Instead, we were kept waiting in the lobby for 15 minutes while the receptionist held an impromptu meeting with 4 or 5 of her colleagues right in front of us.

When she finally approached us, her attitude was openly skeptical, as if she doubted our ability to pay for our 4-night stay. She insisted we settle the entire bill upfront, claiming the front desk would be "too busy" on our departure date. Ironically, our actual checkout day was completely quiet and unhurried.

Treating tired guests with suspicion and making them wait through internal staff chatter is unacceptable for any hotel. It set a terrible, unwelcoming tone for our entire stay.

Lovely place to stay in Jaipur
Pros:

Beautiful building, welcoming and attentive staff. Special mention to Shashank who looked after us so well in the restaurant. The food in Shamaima is excellent.

Cons:

Sound insulation is not great. You can hear people scraping chairs in the room above. It isn’t the hotel’s fault that many people seem to spend so much time in hotel rooms shifting furniture! but better sound insulation would help mitigate the effects. That said, all the guests in the hotel (and we were there on a busy weekend) were quiet and respectful of others, and we slept well.
Breakfast a little disappointing on our last day… lots of kitchen staff around, but they struggled to fulfil an order of French toast and didn’t seem to be interested.

Firstly, I would like to thank Mr. Himanshu Tiwari (Manager) for making our stay at Taj Amer truly exceptional. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and words are not enough to express our appreciation. The room was beautifully arranged and decorated prior to our arrival, which made us feel very special.

Mr. Himanshu's humble, courteous, and grounded nature made our stay truly memorable. Upon our arrival, he thoughtfully arranged a welcome bouquet and chocolates in our room, which genuinely touched our hearts.

I will be travelling to Australia in June 2026, but I look forward to visiting Taj Amer again in the future. Thank you, Himanshu, for your outstanding hospitality and for creating such wonderful memories for us. Your dedication to guest satisfaction is truly commendable
