Everything was great
I started traveling to St. Louis somewhat regularly for work about 6 months ago, and this is my fourth stay at this property. The hotel is clean. The rooms are spacious. The people at the front desk are friendly. The bartenders are personable and service is prompt. The fitness center has a good variety of equipment, and it’s all in great condition. The breakfast is excellent, both in preparation and variety. My work travels take me all over the country, but this has been my favorite place to stay.
We had a corner room which was excellent and huge. Everything we needed. The location, across from Shaw Park and a half block from an upscale grocery store was fantastic.
The parking isn’t great, but valet service is only $5 more than the self-parking.

Michael was wonderful, but management interaction was very upsetting
I want to recognize Michael because he was very kind, professional, and genuinely helpful during my stay. He treated me with respect and he also made a real effort to make my stay comfortable, which I truly appreciated.
Unfortunately, my later interaction with management was very upsetting. The night before my departure, I was told I would need to move from the room I had already been placed in to a lower-rated room. I am a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member, and the way the situation was handled felt confrontational and unprofessional. The General Manager raised his voice at me, and I felt pressured and embarrassed rather than treated like a valued gold member guest.
Michael deserves recognition for his excellent service. However, the management response was very disappointing and changed my overall experience at the hotel.
Very clean and convenient
Walking from hotel to garage.
Stayed here for three nights and it was absolutely wonderful. I’m very picky about location, safety, and cleanliness. This place exceeded all three. The rooms were clean, beds very comfortable, tasteful and modern decor. Felt brand new. Gym spacious, great breakfast selection (would suggest adding bacon daily), and the front desk staff so helpful, as well as the valet. Special thanks to Michael at front desk for going above and beyond with customer service. If you are selective about where you stay, you’ll be happy here!

Staff was extraordinary. Exceptionally clean and quiet.
Excellent Stay! Very pleasant and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Good location close to WashU, which is why we were visiting. Very clean and great staff.
Parking was a bit wonky. Hard to find the parking garage behind the building and then we had to park in the basement.
Room with kitchen
Could have added vegetarian or vegan menu in breakfast to cover global customers.
Nice, large room. Quiet.
We did not stay here. We were just here for the 1965 class reunion which was both Friday and Saturday evening the 26th and 27th of Sept, 2025. We had a bad encounter with the manager named Jesse and the bar tender.
What happened was on Friday 9/26/25. We were parking our car and granted, my husband did a really lousy job, so the valet came out and said we can't park there, but then said we could and that he could fix it. So my husband gave him a $20 bill and asked if he had change bc he wanted to give him a $10 tip. The valet went into the hotel to get the change and we followed him. He gave us $10 and we said thanks. But then he said "what about the $20?" We told him we gave it to him and then went on in. When we went up to the bar to order a drink, the bartender told us that the manager told her not to serve us, so my husband went back over to the manager and tried to explain our end of it, but he cut him off and said we need to give the valet $10. My husband said he would give the manager the $10 but not to the valet which he did. (once again, there was no fee for the valet. We didn't have to give him anything). What was so shocking to us,,was the way the bartender treated us. When my husband went up to pay the bill for our drinks, he said he was trying to decide what kind of tip to give her. She then preceded to say {"I don't want your f----- tip. Your'e not welcome here and you are banned from this place. Well the main event of the reunion was back there at that Residence Inn.
What I would like is for the main guy who is in charge of the Clayton, MO Residence Inn investigate this episode. I feel like both the manager and the bartender should get fired bc basically they are running business off. I mean, is that how you treat your customers?
Staff was amazing and was able to get us checked in early.
