The property was old and full of history had such a great day
The property was amazing
Beautiful relaxing place
No reception on TV so couldn’t tune in to watch football World Cup / Wimbledon tennis. Cooked breakfast really nice, selection of cereals / fresh fruit pretty poor.

10pm entrance locked
Beautiful property, really sympathetic to the period it was built. Spotless bedroom. The staff are what makes this stay truly special, they really care.
Dinner was incredible, such high attention to detail and truly delicious.
Could not fault it. Breakfast was perhaps a tad expensive at £17 for one pre ordered course. Perhaps a juice offering or additional continental options would have made it feel better value. Delicious none the less.
Lovely room and bathroom. Loved the shower. Staff were very friendly and kind
Nice grounds
They are recovering from recently going bust. Clearly lots to learn and not really boutique quality yet. The parking area is under trees and cars inevitably get covered in bird sh*t
Could tell a lot of effort went into the rooms styling and furnishing.
Bed so comfortable I slept through my alarm!
Breakfast was a tad expensive.
Electrical sockets were not placed near to bedside table for easy phone charging.
Unique property and rooms
No bar or food due to insufficient staff, quite a walk into town to find somewhere for an evening meal
The Hotel was superb traditional with history the hotel itself was beautiful and the grounds well kept.
The room was very comfortable well presented and the bath room was to a high standard.
No problems to speak of.
Wow, what can I say, one of the best nights sleep I have had in ages, I was given the Study which is listed as a large single.
It is Not, its a standard double the room is a reall quaint suite, the bathroom is as big as a small apartment in its own right.
The roll top bath is huge, great for that end of day post long drive soak.
The Staff are fantastic, helpful, polite and full of passion and energy.
Its just a shame I found this place at the end of my project not the start.
Wir bekamen als Upgrade das großzügige Penthouse. Der Aufenthalt war nicht nur deswegen sehr angenehm.
It was quiet as there were very few guests. Location is good for what we needed.
Despite having a website that showed a two rosette menu and five star accomodation......when we got there we were told that the kitchen was closed as the hotel was in 'transition' to new owners. Seems that this hotel is 're-opening' again. When questioned, we were told 'that is the old website that we can't control. There is a new one being built in the background.' We were also told the bar couldn't be opened, presumably because licenses were being transferred....Options to eat in the local area are limited.....wound up with a take-away on the bed! It served a purposes and that was about it. Didn't have breakfast....just didn't have the heart for it. Customer service needs a good shake up too. Didn't even get a 'Good Morning' from reception when coming down the stairs. Too interested in what was online. I've stayed in a lot of hotels around the UK and the world....I know what I am talking about. They could have chosen to not take bookings over this transition period, get the fundamentals right and open when ready. Instead they got a poor review on Booking.com
I would recommend The Highfield to anyone that asked, the staff were exceptional, Lauren was especially helpful and sorted everything so that our stay was fantastic, we will definitely be coming back, the room was beautiful and really clean and unique. We had the full English breakfast and again it was exceptional, really good value for money and very tasty.
Nothing about the stay could have been better, everything was great, we were celebrating our anniversary and Lauren and the staff made it feel really special. Nothing was too much bother, I cannot recommend The Highfield enough!
The room and bathroom were fab - lots of space and light and airy - and the staff were super helpful.
I thought the breakfast was disappointing - 3 poached (non runny) eggs on floppy white bread - it wasn't toasted and I'd asked for brown - which for £13.00 was not what I was expecting. They did say the breakfasts were being looked at so hopefully better in future. The mattress of the bed was a bit soft and lumpy too but still managed to have a good sleep.
