Room cancelled despite notice of late check in time.

I had no opportunity to experience the property.

Cons:

I booked 2 nights accommodation (22-24 May) with a note that I’d be checking in at approx. 8am on 23 May. I booked the 22nd to ensure the room would be available after returning to Australia from an international flight. The Oaks replied to my note saying “thank you for confining your check in time”. When we arrived at the property around 8.30am, I was advised the booking had been cancelled due to a no-show and I would have to rebook and pay and wait until check-in at 2pm as there were no clean rooms. The full amount of the accommodation for 2 nights was deducted from my account.
When I explained the property had replied to my check in time, the staff member said “it was cancelled by booking.com, you have to take it up with them”.
The booking.com app shows that “the property told us you were a no show”.
We were left stranded with no accommodation after an overnight international flight, and had to source an alternative accommodation nearby which was fortunately able to take us at an added expense.
Extremely disappointed with the response from the hotel staff and the blame shifting. Still awaiting compensation.

Disappointed
Pros:

Hotel was in a good location from the activities we where doing

Cons:

Seemed to be very disorganised.
Wait in lobby felt like forever the desk literally called me while I was standing right there cause they where calling people who hadn’t checked in yet to see if they could charged their card and instead of just checking me in i still had to wait for the other person. I paid for a deluxe studio for the king bed I didn’t get that I got what was maybe a queen bed with a view of a brick wall. There was no tv remote for the television in the bedroom. I paid for parking witch you’re meant to be able to access with your room card, did not work had to ring through to the desk trying to get into the gate twice to reconfirm I’m a a guest so they could manually open the gate
