It was adequate, but room for improvement certainly existed.
Pros:

The bed was very comfortable, and I slept very well. The room was clean, and the motel was well situated on the main road. The tv and the aircon/heater worked fine. The water was nice and hot.

Cons:

I was in room nine. It had a Venetian blind, but the function of the slats opening and closing didn’t operate. Also, it wasn’t possible to raise the blind. So, it had to stay closed.
Directly outside room Nine was a very BRIGHT light. It couldn’t be switched off from the room, and it stayed on ALL night. Its brightness made it through the closed blind. Luckily the two bath towels were quite large, and I was able to hang them from the top of the blind.
That effectively cut off the brightness of the light.
Without that, the room would have been quite bright.
While there was a bedside table, there was no lamp on it. The room was only fitted with a super bright fluorescent tube.
I’d stay here again, but would avoid room nine.

Great place to stay and has a homely feeling
Pros:

We stayed here on Saturday night while travelling to Mount Isa and had a very pleasant experience.

The room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and had a lovely, homely feel. After a long day on the road, it was exactly what we needed.

The owners/managers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived.

We would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone passing through Blackall looking for comfortable accommodation with genuine country hospitality.

Cons:

The only disappointment during our stay was that the Booking.com listing stated breakfast was included with the room. As we were heading off on a long drive the following morning, we had planned on having breakfast before leaving. When we asked about it, we were advised that they no longer provide breakfast. We understand that businesses change the services they offer; please update the Booking.com listing to reflect the current situation. Having accurate information allows guests to plan and avoid any confusion or disappointment on arrival.

Cannot recommend.
Cons:

No bottled drinking water supplied. Carpet old and dirty ,plastic shower curtain could be replaced. Room needs updating overpriced. 2 star not 3.
