Pros:

Very helpful, friendly owners; location; lovely views from restaurant and garden; very spacious room for an entry level room and was very comfortable.

Cons:

Very poor shower! It was an over bath shower which would have been no problem if it worked. On full the pressure was really poor and the temperature fluctuated between hotter and then colder than it had been set to start.
Reception operates from 8am to 10pm so when we returned after an evening out and wanted milk there was no way to get any. Trying again the following morning at 7.30 thinking that breakfast staff would be there prepping we couldn't even get into the main hotel building. It would be a good idea to perhaps put a basket of drinks items in the outer porch area when Reception closes to avoid this issue.

Very welcoming! Like a dream. A nearby restaurant was top notch. 500 yds to the botanical garden. One of the best!
Pros:

Historical hotel, beautifully restored. Staff were very friendly. It was like we were teleported back in time. Still everything was modern with perfect finish. Classical top of the line breakfast with perfect service.

Nice place to stop on overnight theatre trip with lovely breakfast
