Good value, great views from the garden and it's up a hill so if you walk from the Esplanade, it gives your heart a good workout. I would happily stay there next time.
Lovely place , good location and very friendly staff . Food also very good
Jardin très agréable
chambre très calme, petits déjeuners très bons (full English breakfast), le restaurant propose de bons fruits de mer et la cuisine est bonne. Le jardin anglais est très agréable. La proximité avec Hauteville House est un plus.
Lovely hotel, great staff, great food. Big, well furnished room. Pretty garden with plenty of seating.
Really enjoyed our stay.
The hill to get there is quite steep & there are many steps in the hotel, it’s quirky layout which is lovely but would not be good for any one with mobility issues.
Le charme de l’hôtel et la beauté du jardin, l’accueil très chaleureux, l’excellent petit déjeuner et les très bons repas, l’emplacement très agréable à proximité de la maison de Victor Hugo
Good breakfast but scrambled egg overrcooked on the first morning.
Interesting evening menu
Lovely garden.
NO LIFT. 38 steps down from bedroom on first floor to restaurant on lower ground - and 38 steps back.
Location
Looked like a cheap care home inside. Run down, dirty carpets and poor quality breakfasts, despite menu showing choices. Bathroom was avocado with white replacement items (toilet seat).
Hotel dans une partie calme
Super petit déjeuner
The staff were friendly and welcoming, the Pandora us well located about 10 mjns walk from town, its an uphill walk back but we didn’t find it too challenging (we are 70). The room was clean, nice bathroom, a tower fan provided for the hot weather. Breakfast very good table service with good range if choices. Dinner see below.
Whilst the room was clean and comfortable bed, it is very compact. Little space for suitcases or moving around. There are no sockets for phone charging by the bed. Tea and coffee is provided but as other guests gave mentioned it seems a but mean to offer just 1 packet if 3 digestive biscuits for 2 people! A welcome addition to the room would be asmalll fridge for water etc.
My main concern was about dinner in the restaurant. The menu is very appealing. I chose the fish pie and was disappointed.
Descrbed as having a mixture of fish in a creamy white wine sayce with fluffy mashed potato it was in fact a very dry fish component with 90% salmon (origin unspecified). The topping was hard having clearly been micowaved, the potato layer very thin, I didnt finish mine.
Breakfast and dinner were good. The restaurant looked over the garden, which was nice.
The bed was very comfortable. The reception staff were pleasant.
The location of the hotel, almost next door to Hauteville House (ex-home of Victor Hugo), was very convenient for a visit there.
During breakfast, the staff member clearing tables made a good job of brushing crumbs etc. off the tables, but she brushed them ONTO THE CHAIRS that the next guests would be sitting on! (The food would have made their clothes dirty!) Note to hotel: Please tell your staff to brush food onto the floor (not onto the seats!) and to then sweep them up.
Der Garten, die Freundlichkeit des Personals
Das zu kleine Bett
This was my second stay at the Pandora. I really liked the renovated restaurant and my room felt new and fresh. A good breakfast is included in the stay.
The hotel has a lovely sitting area where I would have enjoyed spending time, However, the door to a small terrace at one end is usually open and, because guests are allowed to smoke on the terrace, the main floor is usually full of tobacco smoke. I didn't see anyone else using the parlors, and I imagine that's why.
