It was great to have this as a last minute booking and was comfortable
That there wasn't breakfast available whether there was a charge or not but overall a good hotel made the best of it though
The bed
The earieness,and the shower had a mind of it's own when using it.When it was set to my body temperature all of a sudden it would go boiling hot when the cold water was being used elsewhere in the hotel.Not value for money.
Recommended the Butchers Bite for breakfast which was value for money and the Bell Inn for evening food.
Eva was very helpful with any requirements.
The room was a good size, reasonably clean.
Booking in was ok although the woman seemed quite disinterested. £50 was on hold on our card on top of the £85 for the room. She felt that pointing to a printed notice on the bar was sufficient explanation for this. We had stayed with them before and this payment was not taken so I can only assume it is a new policy.
Breakfast is not available which in unusual in a weekend stay at a hotel.
The bed was absolutely awful. Clean sheets but a wafer thin mattress that was lumpy and allowed the struts or springs of the bed to be felt leading to a very uncomfortable night. After check in there seemed to be no staff present in the hotel. We packed up and left the next morning leaving our keys in a small wicker basket by the exit. If you expect any personal service from this hotel you will be sorely disappointed.
It has the feeling of a neglected hotel. No staff, no food, terrible beds and no interest in their guests, such a shame.
