Breakfast was lovely, staff very friendly and helpful.
Bed, duvet and mattress were great and had excellent nights sleep, one of the best in a while.
Was lovely and quiet as well. Room was lovely and spacious. Location ideal for what I needed and lots of room to park. Lovely outside area to sit.
Hotel needs some TLC but this is reflected in the price. Shower curtain was a little smelly and had paint on my feet from the bottom of the bath after my shower lol.
WiFi was really bad though. Communal area needs a hoover.
Great location, easy to get to from London, a comfortable and clean room.
Not enough staff, they were run off their feet. Doing the best they could.
Good bar. Room fine double. Staff mixed
I booked 2 double rooms and was just given 1 double and 1 single. When I queried it I was told that it was booking .coms fault because that was what they sent and I asked her to email me a copy of the order. This never happened so on the Sunday morning I queried it again and was told this time that booking.com did ask for 2 doubles and then told me that there must have been an error on their part. However she then tried to justify the single room by saying that there was only 1 person in it. I said that was irrelevant how many people were in it as I had booked a double. She then gave me £20 compensation. I believe that they pulled a fast one and gave me a single room because it had 1 occupant. I am also not happy that the first receptionist lied.
The meal we had as a groupp on the firstt nightt was also quite the poor- a piece of of overdone gristle masquerading as a medium rare steak!!
Nice layout,friendly staff
The food
There was a distinct lack of hot water. I was there as a carer for a client in another of your rooms. Her room was booked as a disabled room but the disabled toilet was through three (!!!) doors and we had to manage this every time she needed changing or washing. This is NOT disable adapted room.
Service was poor. One person manning reception and bar. Almost impossible to get a drink. Serving staff willing friendly but young inexperienced and poorly trained. At dinner rushed and stressed. Asked for food oreder within seconds of sitting down. Pre dinner cocktails arrived aftet starter. Wine arrived at the same time as main course not tasted or served, shambles.
As above
Room was good, shower and bath were smaller but still fine. Everything I needed for a business stay.
The food took nearly 1hr to come. Appreciate the fotball was on but dinner did take quite a while - Left a bit to be desired when it did come. The chicken skewers were two skewers and a flat bread with no sauce. Other than that, staff were great, beer was good and stay was good.
Location
Mattress and breakfast
Nice setting and comfortable room. The staff were helpful on the phone in arranging extras for us prior to arrival.
The price - clearly inflated for the F1 GP - paid over £550 for 1 night. When normally the stays are a fraction of this cost - needs regulating
Nice location.
We paid £257 for a standard double so for that price we were expecting some luxury but the room and the bathroom were very basic and tired looking. The shower was mediocre and was over the bath with a plastic shower curtain. Also one of the packets of biscuits in the room had been opened and one had been eaten! So we were at a loss as to why the room was so expensive.
No air conditioning. No fridge in the room and it was not the standard room. Was far too hot being in the eaves and had 2 warm bottle of tap water. Breakfast started at 06:30. We had to leave early. Ordered at 06:30 but the chef did not walk in until almost 06:45. He said it would take another 20 mins for avocado on toast with poached egg so we had to leave without eating.
Food, both at breakfast and dinner was good.
Room comfortable and adequate.
Lovely accommodation in a beautiful village; don’t miss the grounds of the Wroxton College if you have time.
We really enjoyed our meals and appreciated the efforts of all the staff, particularly those working in the kitchen, during the extremely hot days that coincided with our visit. Thank you.
The shower had a humming noise; but it was probably because everyone was trying to cool off with a cold shower at the same time!
In a lovely village location. Easy to get to. Nice staff. Clean room.
There was a nice area to is in outside.
We were disappointed that the bar closed quite early, 10pm I think. We weren't partying, just wanted to sit quietly with a drink at the end of a long day. As the hotel is in a village, the only other option was to sit in the room!
Also, some sort of snack option would have been good. We had driven from Dorset and would have had to go out again if we wanted food.
