Comfortable. lovely, helpful staff. Amazing location. A relaxing haven away from the stresses of life
The position of the Inn is glorious.
Superior room very small.
Ordered prawn and crab linguine for dinner. No crab! You can see the crab pots from the inn!!
Waited 20 minutes for our dessert which we then cancelled. Restaurant was empty...no reason for slow service.
Breakfast no fruit, croissants, cereals on offer, just have to choose from the limited menu.
No chorizo, no avocados, no brown sauce.
Knowing you have guests staying you would expect to have all your ingredients for at least Breakfast!!
Very poor service 😢
Such a shame as we were on our honeymoon and wanted somewhere special.
Except for the location which was glorious, our stay wasn't the best!
Location
Facilities
The location, restaurant evening meal and comfortable bed.
The food was well cooked, most enjoyable, served by helpful staff, with a good menu
The Inn/pub is in need of some TLC.
It needs painting in the bedrooms as well as the main area's.
The bedroom we had was small with no room to open suitcases or feel comfortable
Furthermore the bathroom was also small with little room to dry off after showers. It also had a very noisy sink tap when turning it on, which also created water swamping the top of the sink.
The carpets were filthy along the corridors and are in need of a deep clean.
Lovely location
Mattress was lumpy, double bed too small and internet unworkable
Lovely location by the sea.
We stayed in the Seaton room, though the room was well decorated to a lovely standard once the kitchen was open there was a really strong smell from the extraction which was also very noisy.
The location and the staff
The room was small and you could only see the sea when standing in the doorway. The view from within the room and bed was directly towards the bathroom and flat above the pub and we were overlooked by the pub terrace/outside drinkers. The cooked food was good but breakfast was limited with no cereal/fresh fruit or anything but sliced white bread. No fresh coffee or tea on offer - just bags. We were surprised at this given the cost of room/breakfast. We appreciated how hard staff were working and all were helpful and pleasant. Overall though we did not think it good value.
The room (Downderry room) was lovely. Double aspect and spacious. Loved the 2 easy chairs to watch the weather - sadly in our case, mainly rain and wind.
Shower room was clean and nicely done, but to dry yourself in there with the door closed would have been almost impossible. Very snug.
Room was clean and well equipped. Comfortable bed.
Common areas were a bit tired and grubby
Room and location excellent. Staff friendly and helpful.
Went for dinner on the Sunday night and it was pretty disastrous. Ordered meals were suddenly unavailable, very long wait for food and then meals were delivered with long gaps and items such as gravy delivered 20 minutes after food first arrived. There was almost half an hour between first meals arriving in the party of six and the last with the gravy delays on top. Staff were very apologetic and bill was reduced but..
The room was lovely, and the bed really comfortable.
When we arrived after a long day of walking we were told that we needed to be “as quick as you can”, to get ready for dinner, despite it being half an hour before we had a table booked.
Then we were told that they had hardly any food left, what we had was basic and my pie was definitely not home made and my husband’s roast beef was really overcooked. The theme ran into breakfast with both our first choices being unavailable. A couple told us they hadn’t had brown sauce for three days.
Sehr schöne Lage, Zimmer direkt über dem Meer, gute Stimmung und leckeres Essen - eine sehr komfortable Unterkunft während unserer Wanderung auf dem Coast Path.
The views were amazing, lots of parking. Good food when available, excellent for taking your dog. Really good food and meal deals available breakfast was amazing
Booked a double superior room which was tiny and not a full double bed and a tiny bathroom should be advertised as a small double. The room was clean and well presented. No food was available on arrival. They should advertise that you have to pre-book a table.
