The location was fantastic, the rooms were super comfortable, with lots of little luxury items provided that we didn't expect. Can't fault the place or the location. Would definitely stop here again if I was in the area.
Really helpful, friendly staff. Lovely room and great toiletries. Dinner and breakfast was extremely good and of a very high standard.
Nothing to dislike.
Staff and food were fantastic. The weather wasn't too good when we visited in May but we can imagine in sunnier times the outside space, views and beach would be fabulous.
Nothing - only have high praise for all the staff.
The room was lovely it was a shame that the curtain were hanging off the hooks though as they were nice curtains
I asked if they had a iron when we arrived but it never arrived so that was disappointing so we had to stay in the same clothes
Geniales Zimmer mit Meerblick beim Aufwachen
Zu lange Wartezeiten beim Frühstück und Abendessen im Pub
We had 3 rooms 2 of them where amazing
The staff where amazing and even sang happy birthday to me ect. Food was lush
One of the rooms were small and tight to move around
Location was great
Would have liked a choice of cereals and yoghurt/fruit. Would have preferred back bacon instead of streaky.
Staff were lovely, food was excellent
The room far to small for the money we paid
Excellent dinner and friendly helpful staff.
The fact that We had to leave but will be back shortly.
Location was amazing, right on the beach with plenty of car parking.
Noisy water pipes from room next door, sounded like someone using our bathroom.
Breakfast was not wonderful, found bbq sauce beneath the muffins which destroyed the flavour of salmon and egg. Egg did look a bit congealed, which put me off a little bit but still ate it.
Would have been good if the breakfast and dinner menus were available in the room?!! Cleanliness was not perfect in the shower room, small stain on sink, and what looked like some mould under the chrome shower drain dome.
Strong sauces & especially hidden ones maybe should have been an option offered by the staff.
Nice rooms. The bed was really comfortable.
Fantastic location right on the beach.
Large carpark.
The room was well equipped although tiny for the price paid.
Unfortunately, my stay at the Inn on the Shore was the only bad experience of my two-week trip around Cornwall. The location is fantastic, but the hotel is not managed well.
The staff made a racket in the private room above the bar after hours keeping me awake.
The wifi, provided by Sky Wifi, was prehistoric. You have to provide your personal details to sign in and the system invariably requires you sign in again every time you open a device. Every other place I stayed in, even the humblest pub, just gave you a password and that's it. Using Sky Wifi is like going back to the 1990s.
On the only night I tried to eat in the hotel, I entered the restaurant just after 7pm. It was full and the one waitress on duty did her utmost to hold things together, but it was an impossible job. One of the barmen provided intermittent support but in fact only confused matters, delaying transmission of orders to the kitchen. After waiting for an hour and a quarter for my main course (a salad) I gave up, the first time I have ever done that in a restaurant. After some negotiation, the hotel wiped the starter, which I did receive, from my bill. They told me that one of the waitresses had called in sick; OK, such things happen, but you have to have a fall-back and in this case there was none. The following night I ate in Bewshea's by the Beach (across the road) and the contrast couldn't have been greater. The restaurant had ample staffing and everything arrived quickly and with a smile.
I have no criticism of the waitress on duty at the Inn on Shore. She was pleasant and was rushing around all evening. She did her best but was let down by the inadequate systems at the hotel.
I paid £228 for two nights for a very small room at the Inn on the Shore, almost double what I paid at some other pubs and hotels on my trip. Despite the beautiful location, it was not good value.
Great location, good food, comfortable accomodation and good value for money
