I had a lovely room looking over the garden, very comfortable. Pretty beams in ceiling. Bathroom perfect.
Nice walk to nearest village for food in the evening as Sunday evening and no kitchen on site.
Excellent value for money, friendly staff and an excellent unpolished, down to earth pub
Food was great also.
Everything was basic but absolutely fine.
Loved the mirrored furniture in my room.
It was super hot in the room and no fan was supplied.
Very noisy room due to overlooking a busy road junction. Low ceiling in bathroom, which had a strong smell of smoke.
Lovely room. Spacious clean bath and shower.
Everything satisfactory.
Manager Jamie very friendly, helpful and accommodating.
Helped me when Booking.com let me down and allowed a closed business to still take money off bookings! And insisted I drive 4 hrs to closed property to show i couldn't get in before helping me.
Jamie made sure myself and my disabled friend had a room for the night.
Breakfast and staff were amazing. Room was cosy and quiet. Easy access to train station to get into London for my interview next morning. Awesome!
Room was a bit small for a Superior i manged to book later online. But we'll equipped and clean.
Quirky old English pub
On checking in I was asked it I had paid. Yes was my reply but then found out if I paid then it was £10 cheaper.
Occupied a very pleasant room full of character ( beamed ceilings) and good shower etc. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
The property was in a nice location
Not the fault of the property but it was 40 degrees plus in the room . No fan and no AC even though I paid for a room upgrade to a room with AC (which apparently non of the rooms have) the toilet in my bathroom was ridiculous, literally had to reverse in the use it wedging my shoulders on the walls each side . The Fire doors needed replacing and had Key Locks which is never a good start . The corridors for escape had obstacle’s to avoid and very poor signage. Now I have to be honest on a cooler night things would have been better I’m sure . They need to work on the fire risk element and maybe considering the outside temp,, open windows , provide chilled water etc
Staff very friendly made us feel very welcome room was very nice and clean provided us with a fan because it was hot lovely old pub yes I would recommend it hopefully we will go back
I loved everything can't find anything wrong
Fantastic
Room was not tidied , bed made during my stay
Staff were friendly
It wasn’t as advertised. Very dated rooms, bathroom was grubby and sideboard had dust all over it. Couldn’t make a drink as the machine was filthy. Booking.com said the rooms had air con when they didn’t
Location
Bathrooms needed a deep clean. Doorways very tint to rooms.
Staff always friendly and helpful.
The bed was very comfortable.
Noticed a fishy smell in bar area.
The ceiling lights are loose, flickering, and appear to be falling from their fittings.
The photographs displayed on Booking.com do NOT accurately reflect the room we were allocated.
Given the condition of the room and the issues experienced during our stay, I do not feel that the accommodation provided represented acceptable value for the amount charged.
basic clean bed, ok but tired
no one at reception for us to pay on departure. the hotel phoned and took payment over the phone and charged twice the rate charging card £320.76 instead of £160.38. the hotel don't answer the phone or respond to e mails. contacted booking .com to get refund and so far they have not arranged refund either . Do not give them your card details over the phone.!!
