This property is very well maintained and functional with all the comforts you’d expect. In my small single room, I had a smart TV, a coffee maker and a very comfortable bed. The facilities were pretty good too - nice common areas with a few activities to keep kids occupied. The “mini gym” is actually really well equipped - better than a 5-star Marriott I stayed at in France. Food served at the White Spider restaurant was always really good - there’s a variety of high-quality dishes (albeit a static menu with one special) to keep everyone satisfied.
What I loved the most about this property is the staff - you feel like part of an extended family when the owner, her husband and mum are present at most times on the property. The other staff members are also very friendly and nothing ever seemed to bother them too much - even when I bruised my knee quite badly they bought me some snow to ice the knee.
It is on the most expensive side, but you pay for the convenience of staying on the mountain. For someone without a car - that’s worth it.
I don’t normally write reviews, but this place deserves one because I genuinely think its Booking.com listing undersells just how special it is.
If you’re looking for a true snow holiday experience, this has to be one of the best ski-in, ski-out locations in Australia. You really couldn’t ask for a better position on the mountain.
The accommodation itself isn’t a luxury five-star hotel, and that’s exactly why we loved it. Instead, it has all the warmth, charm and character of a family-owned German or Austrian alpine ski lodge. It feels authentic, welcoming and comfortable, rather than corporate.
There are around 30 rooms, ranging from twin and double rooms to small apartments. What the listing doesn’t really highlight are the fantastic shared spaces. There’s a cosy lounge, a games room with a brand-new pool table, table tennis, foosball and even a library. It gives everyone somewhere to relax after a day on the mountain.
One of my favourite experiences was the sauna. Being able to enjoy a proper hot sauna, then step outside into the snow for a quick Scandinavian-style snow roll before heading back inside, was something I’ll never forget.
The restaurant is another highlight. It’s themed like a classic 1970s Austrian ski lodge, adding even more alpine atmosphere. Breakfast and dinner were both included in our stay, and every meal was excellent. I especially recommend the pork cutlet. The bar opens from 2 pm each afternoon and is the perfect place to unwind with a German lager or a warming mulled wine.
Most importantly, the staff were exceptional. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming and genuinely cared about making sure guests had a great stay. Their hospitality really made the experience.
The staff can’t control the weather, and unfortunately we only received a small amount of snow during our visit, not enough for skiing. Despite that, we still had an amazing family holiday. That’s probably the best compliment I can give this place.
Pretty expensive, but that’s the snow for you.
Friendly and helpful staff, great food, great location. Thank you!
Last minute booking and loved every single second! Staff were elite - so friendly! All the guests smiled and said hello as well.
Shower was fabulous, bed was like a cloud.
Just an unexpected and absolutely fantastic experience!!
Only complaint is that I couldn’t stay forever.
Fantastic location and wonderful staff, with a great restaurant
Amazing chalet with the loveliest hosts and staff running it. Food at white spider was top notch.
Excellent food and service
Better lounge facilities prior to the bar opening at 2:00pm
Convenient to everything. You can enjoy the surrounding beauty very well.
