Please note:

- In winter, Alpinhotel Bort is only reachable by cable car. The last cable car leaves at 15:45. Public parking is available in the valley, and charges may apply.

- In summer, Alpinhotel Bort can be accessed by car, preferably with a four-wheel drive, via a narrow mountain road.

- Pets are allowed only in the rooms.

- WiFi is available free of charge for one device per room.

-Private parking is available on site (the parking fee is CHF 10 per car/night).
A deposit may be required at the property.

Pros:

Hotel had amazing views and super friendly staff. Rooms were spacious and clean. Our room had a small issue due to previous guests but it did not bother us and the staff more than compensated for the inconvenience. The only thing was that being in a heatwave, the room was a bit warm and since there was no flyscreens, it was hard to keep the windows open without getting all the flies in. But we absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend choosing this place.

Pros:

Our wish is we were staying here for more than one night. This was one of our favorite places we stayed on our trip. The views were incredible. We had reserved a 6 bed room for the 4 of us- and we had plenty of space, the bathroom was updated and large. Out front we had lounge chairs which took in the views. They let us leave our luggage since we arrived early so we could explore the mountain. We ate dinner here, which was great-although their menu has items listed as gluten free that the waiter told us really weren't GF. He was a great waiter and helped us find alternative dishes. The breakfast in the morning was plentiful and had so many options. Again, with a great view. Our only complaint.... the flies. Perhaps some fly swatters in the rooms and/or at the restaurant, to have the moving things that keep flies away while eating-they were plentiful at dinner. We wished we had more time to stay here longer.

Great stay, amazing location
Pros:

Great location, views, and place to stay.
We took the cable car up and would recommend to do so simply for the experience and connivence. Staff was great too.

Cons:

One minor point, given the proximity to the cows, I’d recommend some fly screens on the windows.

Pros:

Es la segunda vez aquí. La ubicación es alejada del pueblo pero simplemente espectacular. El paisaje es de una belleza indescriptible. Ideal para acercarse a First o las rutas de senderismo.

מקום קסום עם נוף מטורף. החדר שלנו פנה להר איגר חוויה שלא אשכח לעולם.
הייתה לנו תקלה במכסה האסלה, המלון השאיר מכתב עם התנצלות, שתיה וחטיפים. ממש מוערך!

Der Aufenthalt war außergewöhnlich.
Pros:

Die Lage oberhalb von Grindelwald ist außergewöhnlich. Der direkte Blick auf die Eigernordwand ist spektakulär. Das Servicepersonal war ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Zimmer sind modern und im Alpenstil sehr gemütlich. Das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut.

I would avoid, and not recommend. Flies infested place.
Pros:

Employees, location, food. Food was amazing, but we could not stay in the restaurant due to flies, and took it to the room. Beautiful view.

Cons:

Million of flies everywhere. I never ever in life had in place that had clouds of flies. Explanation of stuff why it happened would not refund funds spent. We supposed to stay for two night, but checked out following morning, avoid breakfast due to fly infestation. Never got refund for early check out, but was not charged tax for second night. It is far away from any food places, and very very driving dangerous. Very small steepest road I ever drove.

Ein familiäres Hotel, direkt an der Gondelbahn. Toplage.
Pros:

Das Frühstück war gut, ebenso das Abendessen.
Der Service war prima, Wünsche wurden sofort erfüllt. Wir fanden es anheimelnd und haben uns wohlgefühlt.

Cons:

Schade, dass wir keine schöne Aussicht hatten. Die Einrichtung des Zimmers war gewöhnungsbedürftig, kein Stuhl oder Nachttisch, kein richtiger Schrank.
Allerdings wurde uns auf unseren Wunsch sofort ein Stuhl bereitgestellt. Danke.

Waking up to the view was incredible
Pros:

Location was stunning, room very clean and good size. The drive up is interesting and very steep in places so maybe park in the town. Staff great.
