The chateau was full of charm and character, the rooms were traditionally furnished in keeping with the period of the property. We stayed in Victor Hugo. The gardens are attractive and meticulously maintained, mostly topiary. There is a small cafe and gift shop serving refreshments. We enjoyed the pool which was peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was served in the exquisite dining room, at a large table with the other guests, it was very amicable and the food was ample and varied. Don’t come here if you want TV in your room or ultra modern decor. This is a very traditional French chateau and a family home, the owners are very welcoming. We will definitely return.

Family owned & run (including the friendly family dogs) - amazing spacious room & bathroom in the historical style, fabulous views and gardens, + access to the Chateau & grounds during your stay. They provide a wonderful full French breakfast + light lunches & refreshments from their public cafe until close of day. A great break to rest & recuperate from the tourist trail on your holiday.
Location a little under 1hr out of Rennes (not the 20mins via the booking website!) - if you don't have a car, the taxi from Rennes will cost you apprx euro 110 each way. As a family-run residence, they have no evening dining, which limits your options for dinner with no car (although there are many) as nearest village is apprx 15kms away by taxi. They will be more than happy to organise, but you need to factor in the additional cost.

Wow! What an amazing experience it was to stay at this exquisite Chateau. The love and the care the family puts into perfecting and maintaining the Chateau and the beautiful gardens is outstanding. We were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. We especially enjoyed walking through the gardens every morning. We also felt very spoilt with the amazing breakfasts.
We wish we could have stayed much longer.

It was very good! I would just recommend a little more variety.
I think that offering an evening meal would be a great idea, or allowing us to reserve one in advance, as driving is a little tricky on the narrow roads at night. Also I think a no smoking policy in the hotel would be a good idea.
