Pros:

Staff friendly, food location and parking. Good quality sheets and towels and a great breakfast.

Warm clean and comfortable
Pros:

Room had plenty of space and clean. Host and staff were very polite and obliging. Large lounge with bar was lovely and comfortable.

Great stay with amazing staff
Pros:

All the staff was great, the owners was lovely, nothing was to much for them and they was great with the children. I really enjoyed the stay we had and would definitely return if exploring that area again 5* for making us all feel welcome and like nothing was to much trouble 😀

Nothing was wrong at all if I had to pick something I would stay modernising the bedrooms but ypu can see in parts of the hotel this is being done the womens toilet is great and very modern

Pros:

It was convenient to the bowling green.

Cons:

The bed was ornate but not practical. The toilet was up two steps from floor. A strange smell was present in the bathroom while we were there. No hand rail in a slippery bath when showering (bath mat supplied). My 76 year old Husband found it dangerous and no handrail either to assist when getting off the toilet. Not safe for a 73 year old with mobility issues. The breakfast was lukewarm coming out of the food warmers. My poached eggs looked as if they had been thrown againat the wall, they were not edible. Some of the floors in the hallways were uneven and creaked and the whole building needs a fresh coat of paint. It looks scruffy. Won't be in a huury to rush back.

Lovely clean welcoming hotel
Pros:

Very welcoming comfortable hotel. Perfect for an overnight stay. Very helpful arrival, told us all about the area and where to visit, the close by lake is a must. The rooms are lovely, very clean and comfortable. Loads of parking. The public area is so comfortable and welcoming - with great cocktails.

Appalling experience
Pros:

Nothing, it was a terrible experience. The room we were allocated was down a series of dingy, cluttered corridors, and when we finally reached it, the room was awful. It was a hot day and the curtains were not blackout, so it was like an oven and there was no fan.

Cons:

There was a dirty plate covered in dried food and dirty cutlery left in the room (see pictures), the bathroom floor had dirty footprints, the carpet was stained and there was a biscuit wrapper lying on the floor. We left immediately and demanded a refund, which was paid back finally after sending an email. No apology was received and we were seriously put out, as we had to travel quite a distance following this to find accommodation for the night. All in all, we are considerably out of pocket, miles away from where we should have been, and I could not recommend this hotel at all. This is certainly not a good advert for Wales.

An old charming building

Great people. Great setting
Pros:

The hospitality was second to none. The staff were friendly and went out of their way for all 8 of us. They let the children feed the fish after they showed an interest in them. The staff set up a big table for us to eat breakfast all together and sent us a server. They even let us check out late as no one was booked in for the following night. The pool was a big plus with the kids. We were all grateful for the service that we received

Cons:

The decor was a little dated but we knew this prior to going. It was no big issue as the price was fair and reasonable. But the staff more than made up for it.

Dissapointing
Cons:

The hotel is an old property so you have to expect some wear and tear , but our room was very tired and The bathroom was useless , the shower wasnt worth having , very dissaappointed .

Breakfast wasnt ready when said times were open !
