Location and cleanliness were fantastic.
Use of feather duvets, my partner is allergic so prior notification would have been good, I had assumed this would be hypoallergenic so my husband was quite poorly. We didn't realise it was feathers until too late to notify staff.
Location was as good as it gets, just across the road from the sea and an easy stroll to the town. Breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice. Our room had a good side view of the sea front and for my partner it was handy having a lift.
Lack of parking but I really didn't mind too much . By parking at Manor Road it helped with getting my 7,000 steps in . Also we bought a permit for 4 days which covered all our parking needs for £20.
Great location
Bar was dingy needed updating
Situated on a beautiful seafront.
Room was amazing - large with sea view. Staff were really welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Location amazing. Sidmouth also lovely and lots of places to eat nearby.
We had a meal one night and although staff were really lovely, the food was pleasant enough but not anything special so we decided to eat elsewhere the following night. Also have to park the car in long stay carpark (5 min walk away) but was easy enough and not too expensive.
shower
Clean & comfortable .
Parking was tricky . Not enough spaces . Paid £15 aday in the car park opposite. However was worth it .
It was cold weather during our stay in May and the heating came on, making it cosy and pleasant regardless of weather outside. Attention to detail was excellent throughout.
Nothing we didn't like, although beds probably need upgrading soon.
we had a corner room with large balcony and sea view. room was large bathroom with shower was spacious. we only ate breakfast at the hotel but it was excellent with plenty of choice.
The location is fantastic, right opposite the beach and an easy walk into town or up to Connaught Gardens. The room had a lovely dual aspect sea view. The staff are lovely, especially the people behind the bar who are really going out of their way to be accommodating. We sat at a lovely table by the window looking directly out over the sea for breakfast. We were able to park directly outside the hotel with a blue badge. The room was a reasonable size, had a nice little table and chairs inside and the balcony with table and chairs outside. If you are staying for longer than a couple of nights, there is a wardrobe and a couple of cabinets each the side of the bed where you could unpack and put clothes. Very nice to look outside and open the patio doors and hear the sea. The bathroom was newly refurbished. Someone kindly came to help to bring our bags downstairs when we were leaving.
We were in room 18, which really must be marked up in future as being unsuitable for people who are not fully mobile. There is a very ancient lift which is very awkward to get people in and out of if you are supporting them. Once you arrive on the first floor, you have to go through three or four doors which are very heavy to get to room 18. If you are supporting someone, that alone is very difficult. In addition to that, it is quite a long walk for someone who is not very physically able and there are also three stairs. In addition to this, I would highlight that it is difficult to access the hotel itself, both entrances have a series of steps up and doors which again are heavy and awkward. Breakfast is also awkward if you are with someone who is not physically able. Whilst we had a lovely table by the window looking out over the sea, this meant that I had to trot up and down the length of the breakfast room several times, to get tea, toast, yoghurt, everything other than the hot food.. I would say breakfast is not relaxing unless you are fully able-bodied and your companion is. The curtains in the bedroom are purely for decoration, the light streams through them, they are not blackout in any sense.
Location was excellent
Nothing
Fantastic location with absolutely beautiful rooms
Breakfast staff need to give residents that aren’t with a coach party time to sit and enjoy their breakfast time.
