Great for a weekend break by the sea, especially if you have a doggy companion.
Pros:

Excellant location. Very good breakfast. Very dog friendly. Price of bar reasonable for a hotel.

Cons:

Parking a bit of an issue. Free on road parking outside was highly sought after and difficult to obtain. Car park opposite charged £15 a day, if spaces available. Dinner menu limited and mediocre.

Thank you for a lovely stay, a comfy room with a beautiful view & balcony ❤️
Pros:

It was my first time travelling alone with my dog since my husband passed away last year. The staff were friendly & welcoming. The room was comfortable & the balcony was a lovely treat to listen to the waves & watch the world go by.

Cons:

Nothing

Will likely look to stay elsewhere after visiting for a number of years as don’t think ts the best value for money sadly
Pros:

Location is very good, great views from front and side facing rooms. Dog friendly in all rooms which is a bonus.

Cons:

Breakfast poor in quality. Poached eggs hard, brown bread cheap quality and bacon inedible. Seems to have gone downhill over the years.

Pros:

Location was fantastic- room lovely and spacious with really comfortable bed

Cons:

Removable shower head so you can rinse yourself
A small fridge would have been great to have
Sockets with USB ports for charging electrical devices would also have been great to have

A friendly, cosy really comfortable hotel. Excellent breakfasts.
Pros:

Great location and comfortable. Really friendly reception staff - particularly Debbie ( I think)who helped me find my key. Breakfast was really good. A good variety and plenty too.
The room was clean and it was wonderful to have a balcony. Very central and lots of music going on in the evenings as I was there for the Festival.

Cons:

The lift - people kept on forgetting to close the gate and there you couldn't call the lift.
I had problems with sleeping on the mattress unfortunately but I do have arthritis and have problems with my hips.

Terrific place, friendly staff, on the beach and perfect for the Folk Festival
Pros:

Location on the Esplanade and near all the Sidmouth Folk Festival activities...and the music sessions in the hotel created a great atmosphere

Cons:

The weather was very warm and the room was a little hot even with the window open and a fan, but this was minor

In my opinion - best hotel, best room, best location in the UK.
Pros:

The standard of the room was one of the best if not the best we have experienced with plenty of room. Even though there were music sessions on the ground floor in folk week on a busy seafront we were not disturbed and the lapping of waves during our stay was very restful for me.

Cons:

That The Bedford couldn't accommodate us for longer because the hotel is so popular.
