Little details , bed could do with a new mattress and net curtains in corridors were needing changed by nice new bathrooms !

Building entrance and some doors and corridors could do with a spruce up.
Stayed three nights on a coach trip to Balmoral. The hotel looks worse than it actually is. I am a relatively fussy eater but I found the food was hot and of decent quality. Value for the price. I did not enjoy the seating arrangements, more like boarding school! but this was probably due to the coach trip experience. Waiting staff were quick and overworked...and looked it!
Carpets etc are generally tired and badly fitted.
Beds were clean but both the bed and the pillows were extremely hard and I suffered with my back. The attitude of the reception staff woman left a lot to be desired.
Our room looked onto a flat roof which was covered in debris, cans, old socks etc....nobody showed any interest when I mentioned this.
The cost of the trip reflected the quality of the hotel but I have to say for a 3 star I have been in worse!
The bed was comfy
The overall smell wasn’t great, it was worse in the room, shower was a nightmare the noise coming from it sounded like it was going to takeoff, the shower curtain kept sticking to me the bathroom floor was like one big swimming pool mould in the grouting, the Tv was tiny and the tv guild was weird never seen that before

The room was like a sauna, they changed my room because the first one wasn’t ready. Sounded like i had seagulls in my room all night

Like all Britannias they are cheap and cheerful, which means you have to compromise a little on standards a bit. Some hairs on bed, leaky iron. Generally dated room.

Newly refurbished which was nice to see considering the outside was very dated and run down!
Staff were a little rude and blunt. Didn’t get much conversation out of them! Also the whole hotel in the stairwell and hallways looked very unclean and had white residue everywhere including our hotel window on the inside. Which put us on edge! We also paid for 3 rooms when in fact we only needed 2 as we had 5 guests staying however had 3 family rooms! Out of good gesture I would expect my full refund back due to the cleanliness and being charged for more than 2 rooms when it was not needed!
