Poor miserable service. Bare in mind this was for our wedding night!
No help offered with anything really. Shower flooded whole bathroom.
We asked for room service at night- they have no nighttime room service.
We asked for coffee in the morning. They said the machine was for customers who had breakfast only. We asked if we could pay for the coffee (ie to use the machine) but they said no!
They said we could wait until the cafe opened but that was another 30 minutes away! So we checked out, pretty pointless stay.
Food, service, amenities.
Beautiful surroundings , easy to find and hassle free vacation parking.
We very much liked the beautiful parkland in which the hotel was located which was perfect for exercising our dog. We also found the hotel staff to be very welcoming, friendly and helpful and we very much enjoyed our cooked breakfast. The hotel staff even provided a breakfast of cooked sausages for our dog which was a nice touch.
The shower in our bathroom was difficult to operate as the controls appeared to be quite worn.
,
The cooked breakfast tasted like it had been deep fried very dissatisfied,
Very convenient location
A little scruffy in the halls
Nice old house and grounds but very run down.
Accommodation was poor and unkempt. Investment in refurbishment desperately needed.
Amazing setting for a wedding. Outside catering was amazing. Function room was good.
We stayed in the Gloucester Suite and it was in dire need of renovation and improvement. Although there was air conditioning in the room, when we reported that we couldn’t get it working we advised that because it wasn’t working. The curtains were in shreds. The furniture was very battered and worn. Window culls were rotten and filthy. Skirting boards were dusty. Bedding was very clean but the mattress was lumpy on one side.
Breakfast was ok, but not great
We arrived on foot, as we were walking Shakespeare’s Way, and the hotel is perfectly situated on the route making it a great place to overnight. Large spacious room, beautiful setting.
Everything was very good

The staff were friendly. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. The grounds were beautiful. Food and cocktails were lovely
The air conditioning in our room was broken, in 37 degree heat and the towel rail in the bathroom was on full with no option to adjust the temp or turn it off, absolutely burning hot which made the room unbearably warm. We told staff who said as it was a Sunday nothing could be done. There were also problems with the card machine in the restaurant so we had to attempt payment multiple times throughout our meal.
Staff very friendy and helpful
Setting tranquil and magical with wildlife
Poor attention to detail like the main entrance welcome mat
And the ceiling in the restaurant
Heritage, location and great staff
Rooms possibly need an uplift (decor)
