Good location for my trip around the lakes and riding over Hell Fire Pass. Facilities were all that I needed and the landlord was helpful.
Breakfast was excellent...Nice and hot and well cooked and presented. Chef was really nice and helpful.
We didn't spend much time at the Inn so can't comment on the menu food . There seemed to be some form of entertainment scheduled but we were not present to comment.
This is difficult to write as this place seems a favourite for the locals and is a very old building. I booked the 2 rooms I believe they have for a 2 night stay , rooms 1 and 2, room 1 had a ensuite which was quite big. There was plenty of storage space and extra electric sockets, the downside was the 2 single beds were small width wise whereas a good night sleep was difficult.
Room 2..completely different from room 1...no washing facilities you have to use the tiny sink and toilet across the hallway , luckily we could use room 1 washing facilities not sure if you were staying in room 2 as a lone customer how you would shower etc. The TVs in both rooms are a complete waste of time, they run on "Firesticks" and you cannot get hardly any channels without signing in with email addresses etc a real disappointment no extra electric sockets in room 2 as I could see to charge phone etc.
The decor is tired in both rooms and needs some TLC lots of carpet stains in both rooms...yes it's an old building I accept that but sorry to say it's wasn't a pleasant stay.

And for the breakfast. It was freshly cooked as you arrived. Piping hot and should you need anything more there isn't a problem. The choice is cereal OR cooked full breakfast, but the cereal wasn't needed and it meant we enjoyed the breakie even more without filling up on cereal before.
Placed right in the heart of the village, there were places to eat and drink, as well as great food at the Inn. There is a lovely cafe in the square : "Something Tasty" with healthy food and lovely smoothies.
The bedroom and bathroom were lovely and clean and the bed was comfy.
We had a lovely stay and are already looking forward to returning! The highlight was definitely the bar—we really enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere and the incredibly friendly service from the staff.
As a helpful tip for future travelers, the rooms are up two flights of stairs. While they weren't too difficult to manage, anyone with mobility difficulties might want to request a lower floor or plan their day to limit trips up and down, like we did.
To help the hotel truly shine, a bit more attention to deep cleaning in the seating areas—specifically dusting under the tables—would perfectly match the otherwise high standards of the property. Deep cleaning these customer-facing areas and establishing a nightly wipe-down routine would instantly improve the atmosphere and reassure guests about hygiene.

Very convenient. Flexible for a late arrival when we were delayed. Great fan (weather was really hot). Spar with large free car park just opposite.
There wasn't a shower or bath, though we knew when booking.
Enjoyed our stay! Couldn't have breakfast as we were leaving too early but they did leave us some sandwiches and crisps to take with us. We had a room right at the top which was a little warm to go with the warm weather so we said our next stay we'd hope was a little cooler. Useful location part way to our destination.
Cooked breakfast was excellent - freshly cooked and tasty. No cereals offered. The pub has recently changed hands and probably a steep learning curve for the proprietors.
People need to be warned that the staircase is steep.

The room with the en suite is superb.
Access to the property in a morning was difficult. If I needed to get something from the car I struggled to get back in as all doors were.
Access to a door at all hours to guests should be considered.
Very friendly owners, excellent location. We arrived very late, owners stayed up to let us in. Clean comfortable room. Delicious breakfast. Would definitely come back.
