Mooie locatie en uitzicht. Heerlijk ontbijt en diner.
Kamer was comfortabel. Personeel was super gastvrij.
Goede laundry service.

The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, the restaurant food was delicious and had the most spectacular view. The rooms were spacious and clean and the location was great. I would definitely stay here again.
The rooms were a little hard to get to, but understandable given the location.
The location was amazing. Just a short drive up the hill completely removed you from the busy town and set you in an amazing tranquil, hidden away tree house vibe in the jungle. The staff at check in and at the restaurant/bar were absolutely excellent!! 11 days and 5 different locations in Costa Rica and they were some of the best we met. Cant wait to return to this property.
Wish the dipping pools and Firepits were open later into the evening.
Beautiful setting in the cloudforest
Site exceptionnel, jardin dépaysant et personnel aux petits soins
Piscine un peu petite
Beautiful property in the rain forest with little cottages. Ours had a hot dipping pool - which was awesome given the cooler evenings and after a long hike. Beautiful view and excellent (!) breakfast - the staff is extremely accommodating and kind.
The staff is friendly, professional, and very well trained. Everyone we interacted with spoke excellent English. We also received an upgrade to a larger room because the hotel wasn’t totally full – this turned out to be very nice (we really appreciated it and thanked the hotel for this) because we ended up staying more time in the room than we’d expect due to weather conditions... and I think we planned for more days than necessary for Monteverde.
We also had dinner at the hotel one evening. The food was good—certainly above the average quality we found in Monteverde. It is expensive (more on that below), but the execution and service were better than what you get in town.
The biggest issue isn't Koora itself—it's the perception of value. To be fair, this is a much broader Monteverde problem.
To put things in context: we as a family travel frequently, from Aspen, Courchevel and Lech to adventure destinations like Torres del Paine. We spend more on those trips, yet the perceived value is dramatically higher.
The issue isn't the absolute cost—this was actually one of our cheaper vacations. It's paying US$11 for a mediocre glass of hospitality quality wine, US$9 for a local beer, US$6 for an espresso, or US$30 for a simple chicken-and-rice meal. These aren't luxury restaurants; they're often very basic roadside places. Activities are similar: the zip-line parks are fun, but many cost about the same as a Disney ticket (note: Disney is not our vibe, but we've been and perception of value is way higher).
Ironically, after seeing the prices elsewhere, Koora itself no longer felt expensive. In relative terms, it offers better value than many restaurants and activities in Monteverde.
Our biggest disappointment at the hotel was breakfast. For a property of this caliber, limiting guests to a single menu item—and charging extra for virtually everything else, even cappuccinos (coffee and milks are the same ingredients!)—feels unnecessarily stingy. My wife ordered a fried egg, was still hungry, but decided against ordering another because it would have cost almost US$20 for two eggs. It left us with the impression that the hotel was trying to maximize every extra dollar rather than provide a premium experience. So cheap...
A sauna or proper spa would also be a welcome addition given the hotel's positioning. The heated pool was pleasant, but relatively small for the number of rooms.
Overall, Koora is one of the better hotels in Monteverde. But just come prepared: Monteverde is one of the most "expensive" (for the value) places I've ever been.
This place is truly magical between the natural beauty, wildlife, comfortable accommodations and amazing staff. I really appreciated every effort that was made by the staff to make our stay exceptional. On our last day I was asking if they had any recommendations so I could show my daughter some monkeys. Jeaustin found me a little later to let me know there were white faced monkeys right outside my room. It really made my trip to see my daughters face when she saw the monkeys. Also, Allison greeted us at every meal and knew each of our names and my husbands dietary restrictions (gluten free). The food was the best we had in Costa Rica. Don’t miss the Natuwa animal sanctuary next door. It was incredible and we had sloths climbing right next to us on the hand railing.
Everything was great.
Allt. Helt underbart!
The staff is lovely and we enjoyed breakfast
The road up is rocky and unpaved, unlit, and to then get to rooms is a 5 minute walk after that. With kids and the daily rain, not ideal (wouldn’t recommend Monteverde with kids younger than 10 years old). The rooms were not as clean as they should be, there was paint on curtains, hairs in the corners and crumbs under the rug, windows dusty. Very little room to store clothes and belongings. A safe that was not mounted. Toilet paper holder loose in the wall. The price of the rooms is just really not worth it. Pools are plunge not swim, and many of rooms are not stand alone cabins but rooms in buildings while photos give the impression of single units. At half of the cost the price/quality would be balanced.
Todo, y sobre todo el restaurante y el
Personal
En la habitación hacia frío y el sistema de aire acondicionado no funcionaba en modo calefacción
