The staff were fantastic, the room, the views
Deeply disappointing experience with an inflexible hotel. I booked several rooms for a group of friends, and when one person dropped out I contacted the hotel more than a month before check-in to cancel just one room. Reception told me they would process a free cancellation, so I waited. After "consulting management," they reversed that completely and refused any goodwill, hiding behind the non-refundable rate even though we had booked multiple rooms. When I asked which of our other bookings was flexible instead, they said all were non-refundable and refused to help with the only one that might have been. Being promised one thing by reception and told the opposite by management is unacceptable. For a supposedly premium hotel, the service was cold, bureaucratic, and inflexible. They kept our money and offered nothing. I would not return.
There are hotels that have a view, and then there are hotels that are organized around a view — where the architecture, the terraces, the placement of every table and sunbed exists in deliberate conversation with what sits outside the window. Petunia is the second kind. Es Vedrà — 382 metres of limestone rising straight from the sea — is present from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, and the hotel understands this completely. It doesn’t compete with the monolith. It simply frames it, again and again, at every hour of the day.
The facilities are beautiful in the quiet, unhurried way that good Balearic hotels tend to be — nothing shouting for attention, everything in its right place. Breakfast was a genuine pleasure. La Mesa d’Es Vedrà delivered food that felt genuinely considered rather than merely competent. And La Mirada, the rooftop bar, is exactly what a sunset bar should be — the right table, the right view, the right hour. No performance. Just the rock and the light doing what they do.
But what made this stay exceptional wasn’t the architecture or the view. It was Asiye. Asiye Benghalem, Guest Experience Manager, is the rare hospitality professional who treats your trip as if it were her own — anticipating things you hadn’t yet thought to ask, organizing transfers, restaurants, and boat days with the precision of someone who actually cares how the day turns out rather than simply whether the booking was made. Every detail was attended to personally. Every request was met before it became a question. In a world where “guest experience” is usually a job title rather than a practice, Asiye is the real thing.
Petunia deserves to be on every serious Ibiza list. Come for Es Vedrà — stay for the team.
Nothing at all.
The facilities of the hotel are really nice, the swimming pool area, the garden, the room, all very good. We had minor issues with our room, the air con and the key but the staff was fast to help us. The breakfast is amazing and the staff attending us were very nice and friendly. The animal flow class session is a plus and the teacher a lovely person as well. All in all the hotel is very good with a few improvements points.
They only give you one bottle of water in the room which is not enough for two persons. They charge 20 euros for the hiking experience for a bottle of warm water and a towel, while the hiking is nice I think is a bit much to charge for that. The restaurante on the first floor does not worth the value, the food were far from good and the price is absurd for what you get.
Everything
Nothing
Tout etait parfait
Rien
The view, the decor, the yoga classes
It is a bit out of the way and takes a long time to get to. Not ideal for short stays exploring the island
The setting was stunning. They have great programming, like live music and nature activities. The staff was very accomodating and pleasant. The food was great too if on the expensive side.
There were many small children under the age of 5 taking over the pool every day. I did not realize it was such a family oriented hotel and I'm not sure I would have chosen it knowning there would be so many small children.
fijne sfeer, lekker ontbijt, mooi zwembad
