Pros:

Excellent location for Donnington. Lovely staff and great breakfast.

Cons:

Only minor grumble was the shower that jumped from freezing to boiling hot depending on whoever else was using the water supply.

Two Nights in Ticknell
Pros:

The staff were very friendly and it was a great location with historic places like Repton and Tamworth a short drive up the road. Also some pleasant local walks. Food was excellent and, as well as the breakfasts (included), the evening meals were home cooked and tasty.

Cons:

The wifi was a little spotty but, as far as we could tell, Ticknall doesn't get good internet anyway. The silver lining was that we didn't find ourselves doom scrolling and wasting time.

Great stay but check stairs
Pros:

Clean and modern in an old setting.

Cons:

Stairs to the upper floors difficult to manage with luggage. Elderly and disabled people would struggle

Decent bed and breakfast
Pros:

Plenty of parking available. Cleanliness of rooms. Decent shower. Quite location so won't be disturbed by traffic noise. Comfortable bed

Cons:

Food was average with not a great deal of choice.
Steep stairs to get to the rooms, not recommended if you're traveling with small children or you're not fully able bodied
Room was too warm but at least the windows could be opened. Tiniest tv I've seen in a while, would benefit with an upgrade on that

Nice country pub with good food.
Pros:

The large bedroom with a sensible design of shower that didn’t get the rest of the bathroom wet.

Cons:

The large number of LED lights that remained on during the night, especially the flashing WiFi light.
