Please don't go....awful...
Pros:

it's on a hill...stunning views....

Cons:

Despite paying £294.000 for our stay, there isn’t enough seating in the venue, we were forced to sit on pallets for our evening, the building clearly isn’t finished. Building work and unfinished parts all over. Poorly competed decor, scruffy carpets and not what I’d expected for my hard earned £294.00

The youngsters may find this “trendy’ but, at 60 years old, pallets are just scrap wood, nailed together…they are not luxury seating for a whole evening.

Yet, glancing over these areas, a shouting match ensued by what I can only call, a PTSD incident at reception when trying to check out of the place. We were shouted out so much that we feared for our safety…a full on slanging match because we wanted to check out and pay.

Having contacted the General Manager, he explained that he’d “told the chap off”…(but, couldn’t go into detail).

The venue has our £294.00 for a truly horrific stay…the venue is sub standard, poorly decorated, pallets for seating, unfinished and the staff will bawl you out, if you try to check out 20mins earlier than they want you to so much so, that you’ll fear for your safety.

A venue charging £294.00 per evening would suggest quality, luxury, a personal touch, that little extra yet, bags carried to our room, a modern door locking system, attentive staff…we failed to see any of this.

In fact, the exact opposite, admitted by the General Manager, in an email.

This venue is a Travelodge on a hill.

A fantastic location with amazing views!
Pros:

Great location.

Cons:

The hotel is obviously a fantastic wedding venue and this seems to be the main focus.

Picturesque escape from city life
Pros:

Great location for the views and nature (seals spotted on the shore below!), nice comfortable room, surprisingly good food (which is important when there’s not much else around).

Wedding guest stay
Pros:

Stayed as a wedding guest and was cheaper to book through booking.com. Venue is in a beautiful location. Half the rooms seem to be renovated and half not but whole hotel is clean and tidy

Cons:

The toast situation at breakfast was jokes in all honesty. It’s all help yourself except toast and it took 45 minutes to bring 2 slices between 4 people!? Just put toasters out for us to do ourselves like every where else?

Recent stay
Pros:

Staff, especially in the bar area, were very attentive
Enjoyed the wine and choice at breakfast

The room

was basic but very clean

Cons:

The room was passable, for what we paid, clean but basic. TV had no signal, and pillows need to be replaced.

Its a shame as we were unfortunately served food that was bland and cold, the staff at the restaurant couldn't apologise enough but can only assume the chefs were overstretched with the wedding and basically just warmed it up. Wasn't great! I would just warn that the business model here is weddings first.

Absolutely disgraceful pricing for a basic standard of room - never again!!!
Pros:

Average

Cons:

The room and the corridors were the most, tired basic I’ve ever stayed in. At £317 for a night it is an absolute disgrace. I will never stay there again.

Lovely location but not worth the money everything considered.
Pros:

The views were superb . On arrival the room we were given was not the room I booked so after complaining we were given a better room .

Cons:

The two days we were there so was a wedding on both days which meant we didn’t have access to most of the lounge rooms downstairs

bad situation turned good
Pros:

breakfast was amazing, well done, Holly, receptionist turned our visit from disappointing into a successful stay,

Cons:

shabby maintenance, door frames loose on lodge, curtains hanging from rails in 405, in 502 blinds torn or being held up by a cheap wooden frame, nor luxury or executive
