We were looking for a dog friendly hotel in the Whitby area and Grinkle Park came up. A short telephone chat with reception and a room was available for the mid week at a special bed breakfast and evening meal included price.
What a super old Manor House it is, fabulous old wooded grounds, and beautiful mown lawns.
The staff were well organised and friendly. The food was lovely and very well presented. Drinks available in the lounge and bar.
As previously stated there is an older clientele. No lift.
I would recommend Grinkle Park Hotel and I hope to return some time.
Paul and the team made our first anniversary everything we hoped. A truly beautiful room, exceptional food and personal service at its finest. Thank you to all the staff who make it so magical! We will be back! Xx
Thankyou to Paul and the team for making us feel so welcome at GrinklePark. We have been here many times ,it's always so friendly and welcoming and the food is always so good. Looking forward to returning soon.
Our second stay at Grinkle Park after a great experience last year. Stayed 2 nights.
Lovely rooms and superb food. Friendly staff who make an effort to engage. Nice and quiet location with easy access to the coast.
Stayed here for two nights on a midweek deal. I honestly would not have been surprised if it had been a bit ‘tired’. It wasn’t. Nice room with lots of space and a good seating area, big bathroom and large bed. The public areas were very comfortable and the staff were all absolutely excellent- knowledgeable, helpful and friendly without being familiar. The food was fine and at £32 for dinner represented decent value if not the best I have enjoyed. Lovely grounds enhanced by great weather which meant we could sit outside and enjoy the place. Negatives? Yes, awful pillows ( but we did change ours) and a walk-in shower would have better than the over the bath one. However, a very nice couple of days and good value in a nice place. We’ll be back!
Beautiful building. The staff were exceptional. Perfectly situated to visit staithes and whitby and the Cleveland way
Our room (Grouese) was big and had a seating area, which is always a bonus, but there was no plug socket near the mirror for when I was blow drying my hair, which was a shame. It was also quite a dark room as there is no over head light
We stayed here for 2 nights with off a peak luxury voucher from our son. We wanted somewhere quiet and tranquil away from cities . We found the perfect place in Grinkle park hotel. I’ve given it 5 mainly due to its position at the end of a very long tree lined drive, and mainly to the staff who work there. They really make your stay perfect. They are like a family together , always have a smile on their faces and nothing is too much trouble for them to help you. Yes the hotel may be “dated” and some will complain the furniture is old, floorboards creak a bit in the rooms, but it’s rustic, clean and food was great. Our bathroom may be a squeeze for someone tall as the shower above the bath means standing up for someone over 6ft needs to mind your head..🤣… the shower was good though….
The room was very spacious , plenty of storage space , a hairdryer, tea coffee makings with shortcake biscuits , not the tiny ones you usually get.👍👍. There are complimentary toiletries, the towels are large and great. Room was cleaned even though we were there 2 nights. The grounds are beautiful to walk around and so tranquil and so well kept . The hotel is within easy reach of local towns and beautiful villages and en route home we went across the moors to Helmsley… what a drive… just awesome before hitting 3 hours of motorways 😩…
FAO the hotel manager/owners.. your staff are a credit and all so happy in their work and really seem to live their jobs and what s great place to work. Don’t expect to see a modern hotel as this is not… it’s rustic and old but a lovely place to stay…. I would return…
The rooms are generously comfortable, the beds are very good, the plumbing works perfectly, the food is great. The staff are friendly and quietly competent.
The Hotel grounds are well maintained, secluded and accessible. It's also in a great location, in the North York Moors.
Grinkle Park is a lovely small hotel in wonderful grounds. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food in the restaurant is excellent.
If we are able to stay again we would definitely require a first floor room as my wife found the number of steps up to our room on the second floor quite challenging.
Lovely grounds and common areas. Liked the pods. Very friendly staff. We arrived in the heatwave and couldnt wedge one of the sash windows open but that got sorted. Also minus a bath mat but immediately sorted when mentioned. Good breakfast and dinner. Strawberries and Prosecco on arrival a nice touch. So much to do in the area
Great location. Very peaceful.
A poor experience and did not deliver as it was marketed and sold.
It’s a lovely old place but the Owners need to be realistic.
Poor hygiene, many untrained staff and just lacks the ability to deliver what it sells ie. 4 Star luxury break.
Shout out to Annie and Charlie and the Breakfast Ladies - they are holding up theor end of the deal - take note all others.
I would not book a night here again at these prices. It’s a good Bed and Breakfast, great location, but cannot deliver what is sells.
We all work hard for our money and no-one should be able to take it without adding value… Grinkle Park missed this principal.
A very peaceful place to stay, very clean and excellent staff.
A perfect British country house with excellent grounds and kept character
Nothing
Yet another successful stay at this hotel, set in lovely countryside with great local attractions nearby, very comfortable bedrooms and very nice restaurant, with a good choice of food on the menu.
All the staff are friendly and very helpful, we will be returning for another stay in the near future.
Excellent place, food lovely, staff really good.
Just returned from a wonderful overnight stay with family. What a lovely building in the most peaceful and beautiful setting. We were lucky to have good weather and enjoy a drink in the garden where we saw a variety of wild birds and even two deer ran across the lawn. Warm welcome from reception on arrival, in fact all staff were really professional and friendly. Large room with comfortable bed. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Good .choice in restaurant and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Short drive to a number of coastal towns such as Whitby and Saltburn which we enjoyed. Will definitely return and no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Not been back to hotel for over 15 years - however standards are still high and service excellent. Had a package that included prosecco and strawberries on arrival as well as a 2 course dinner and breakfast. Room was very good - the only niggle being the absene of a mat in the bath. Both dinner and breakfast were first class and the staff were eager to please. Grounds were beautiful - the ideal spot for a luxurious break.
