The place was comfortable but tired
Pros:

It was conveniently located

Cons:

As it was off season the place was not fully staffed and not staffed in the morning

Adequate for a one night passing through
Pros:

CHECK IN AND CHECK OUT WENT OK. LOCATION CLOSE TO FERRY AND BUS TERMINALS.

Cons:

The room we were allocated was 2 flights up and narrow and winding staircase. My husband and I are both in our 70's but no offer of assistance was given with luggage. The shower room was disappointing in the extreme. While the soft furnishings in the bedroom were lovely and clean the walls and fixtures were shabby and badly painted with scratches and chips on the paintwork. The stunning view from the window was marred by a very thick cable cutting across the window and further narrower one just below it.

Needs a facelift, tired paintwork on the stairs, bathroom needs some attention to the toilet seat and bath side kept pop

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt
Pros:

Ich hatte ein Zimmer mit direktem Blick auf den Hafen und die Berge. Praktisch war der gemütliche Pub im Haus.

Cons:

Ich hatte Probleme mit der Türautomatik. Mir wurde zwar schnell geholfen, aber das Problem bestand weiterhin.

It was a pleasant stay
Pros:

Nice location with views overlooking the harbour which took your breath away.

Cons:

Couple of things required improvement on. The pillows were rock hard you could not sleep on them. The show rail was broken. The hotel requires some TLC and tidy up, there was rubbish around the grounds like empty beer cans and old gas bottles which could be easily cleaned up. Then at 11pm someone set off the fire alarm although brief managed to frighten everybody in the accommodation and could hear the staff laughing down stairs in the bar. I think some honest conversations with staff need to take place about managing a hotel cause the property has great potential.

Stop over for the Ferry to Stornoway

Great location

Cons:

Room felt a bit damp, bathroom felt tired with out a blind for the bathroom window only frosted glass combined with only an electric storage heater in the bedroom, it all felt a little damp and very comfortable or warm.
The bed felt very worn you could feel the bed springs whilst lying on the bed .

Great views
Pros:

Great view of the bay and a good location.

Cons:

Unfortunately we were there on a Saturday night and a band was playing, which was all ok until the patrons left and were singing (badly and loudly) out the front!
Minor problem with a bathroom sink but not a show stopper!

excellent value, food and location.
Pros:

location , lovely sea view, evening meals were lovely , Cullen Skink and pork belly. Will was very accommodating . large room was a bonus

Cons:

bathroom needs tidying / updating but can’t crumble for the rprice of the room
