Argyll Hotel

The hotel claimed they did not know we had a booking. This was despite email confirmation from Booking.com and me ringing the hotel twice the week before we arrived to verbally onfirm the booking which they did confirm. There was no other accommodation available locally so we slept in our car..

The bathroom looked a bit tired, but it was clean enough and honestly it was grand for us.

The room smelt like damp and stale beer and there was black mould on the walls and skirting. The bed was stained yellow around box frame and had black marks on bedframe and mattress,which also looked like mould. I couldn't stay there and had to seek other accommodation late at night as it was so disgusting. Very stressful and expensive (as still haven't received a refund) with a tired child after a long day travelling.
The manager looked at photos and agreed it wasn't fit for purpose and said she would be closing it off for a deep clean. She said she could not issue a refund however, so I am still waiting for booking.com to sort this. Absolutely terrible service and extremely disappointing. Won't book through them again!

The pillows could be a lot better and there was no bath mat.

Vloer was flexibel.
Uitzicht door kabels verspert.
Badkamer klein.
Laminaat vloer was zwaar beschadigd en bewoog met lopen.
Trap naar boven erg steil en deur vanaf trap naar gang kreeg je in je gezicht omdat je op de trap hem open moest doen terwijl de klink hoog zat.
Personeel deed weinig moeite en was niet gemotiveerd.

Der Geruch im Eingangsbereich bzw Restaurant war wirklich schlimm. Gesamteindruck sehr alt und muffig.

All is very old
- pictures of the rooms do not present how small they are and old
- very loud with rooms over the pub with night life until very very late
- ear plugs were not provided despite message received before the arrival that they were offered
- room was not done the second day
- bed were very very uncomfortable - I could feel each one of the springs in the mattress
- pillow were each one different and hard as a rock
- let’s not talk about the bathroom

Poor service,no manager availa ble,radiators left on in extreme heat,no fan availble,bed very uncomfortable ,curtains left open to add to heat.
Very scruffy.
Just a basic rip off.
