The location, the bed was lovely
It was a warm evening and the fan supplied was only just adequate which made a very stuffy night's sleep. The shower took a little working as the water was extremely hot but once we got the temperature it was powerful enough
Owners and staff were wonderful we had a lovely time x

Nothing
Great friendly staff, and a fabulous breakfast. So helpful with the parking, much appreciated with our van.

Welcoming and friendly reception...bed very comfort.
Perfect location fir the Upton Blues festival.
Bed was comfortable but room and bathroom slightly dated.
Convenient location
Very hot in room
The staff were really good friendly and attentive.
The rooms need upgrading, new curtains and furniture. The accommodation was priced too high compared to the state of the rooms.
Breakfast was good, service was very good
The staff were amazing and very helpful I was there for a funeral and was allowed to keep my car there while I attended. Each member of staff I encountered could not have been more helpful :-)
The room was very hot I could have done with the window being opened before I got there and the fan switched on but I appreciate not everyone would want this.
The location was perfect
The decor was excellent
The food was great
The staff were very nice
The beer tasted off
Last orders for a meal was 6.45pm
Our room was very very hot and the window only opened very slightly
We had a fan but suggest a portable air conditioning unit should have been provided
Location.
Filthy carpet. Never stayed in a room with such high levels of dust and dog hair on the carpet especially. Chef not happy when I chose a gluten free option (heard the whole shouting saga from the kitchen window). Cancelled the meal as we did not trust the chef after hearing the almighty rant. Couldn’t wait to leave this place.
Really nice room. Plenty of space. Had everything we needed. Very clean. Lovely village setting.
Was travelling to stay after work. Had notified of arrival time of 9-10pm on booking.com and received a reply acknowledging it. The pub is advertised as being open until 11pm and check in shows on booking.com as 24 hours.
Received a call at 8pm saying they were closing and we had missed check in. Had to call an emergency number on arrival but the first one went to voicemail and had very limited signal in the location.
The person who met us to help us get in to the accommodation was friendly but I was still unclear on how to check in and was never given the opportunity to book breakfast.
The advertised check out time on booking.com and on the booking confirmation was 11am but there's documents in the room saying you'll be fined if you stay any later than 10.30am.
Is advertised with parking but the majority of the car park was taken up with piles of pallets so ended up in an awful space where anyone leaving had to squeeze really close to my car and the car next to mine.
Shame as the rooms are really lovely and well kept but way too stressful and chaotic to be of any use. We were trying to change from our usual Premier Inn stay to a local place where we could have a pint on arrival, but won't be doing it again (and never got the pint.. because the pub actually closes 3 hours earlier than it says online)
My husband and I have just returned from 2 nights at this hotel. We were going to a wedding nearby and booked the White Lion as it had parking.
Our room was awful! Directly above the kitchen extractor fan which was very noisy and we had a view of à Perspex roof from our window.
The room was so small that I didn’t even have a bedside table. The wallpaper in the bathroom was hanging off the ceiling and there was no toilet roll holder. We expect a fridge and there wasn’t one. The room was hot and cramped, not worth the £110 per night without breakfast. Upto itself was a lovely town worth another visit but most definitely not to the White Lion!
Nothing
Our room was above à very noisy extractor fan from the kitchen, the room was very small, hot and wallpaper was peeling off the bathroom ceiling. No fridge. Definitely not worth £110 per night with no breakfast! Won’t be returning.
Lovely lunch-time meal. Had fantastic Chicken and Leek pie, home-made, very tasty.
