Central, good walks, hotel comfortable (except bed!), cheap petrol nearby!
Pros:

Location, food, staff. Room was very spacious, even with two dogs.

Enjoyed our stay and will definately be returning.
Pros:

Room was lovely. breakfast and evening meal very good. Staff were super helpful and friendly. Very clean and tastefully decorated.

Cons:

Took a while to work out the TV ,but got there in the end. Little problem with shower head,needs attention. Otherwise everything was very good.

Nice place if a little pricey.
Pros:

Great location, nice staff.

Cons:

Cramped bathroom without any hooks or room to put anything down.
The parking was awkward, there's a plan but you only see it after you've parked!

Thank goodness we stayed at The Swan instead

Cons:

We arrived and parked in the car park, we checked in and were told that there was no food available in the evening as the chef was not there. Then a couple arrived and blocked the car park entrance. The woman got out of the car and started shouting that we should move to let her park. She was rude and aggressive.the car was moved and during this time the woman continued her tirade. It turned out she is the owner of the hotel and thought she should be able to park where she wished, even if someone was already there (there were no signs to indicate reserved parking). At this point her husband started shouting and eventually said that we could “have their money back and fuck off” - which we did and found rooms at The Swan, a superb place with friendly staff, nice rooms and superb breakfast! We felt that the owners of the White Lion did us a favour by chucking us out. The Swan was in a better position, staff were helpful, altogether a great place.

Pros:

Comfortable relaxing lovely staff

Cons:

Paying £15 extra for breakfast when all I wanted was cereal toast and tea
No meals after 7.30pm at beginning of week

Stop off picked at random was a nice surprise for the location and White Lion!
Pros:

Nice old building in historic town. Picked location at random and was pleasantly surprised at quaint little town on the river. Lovely old building. Rooms look recently refurbished. Staff lovely. Nice food though make sure you eat earlier as the stop serving at 7.

Cons:

Little bit of street noise of an evening but died down as the evening passed. Our room was rather warm due to south facing sun, though a fan was supplied!

Very welcoming and an very enjoyable stay.
Pros:

Very good choice of menu both for the evening meal and breakfast, and all meals were delicious.
The room was very nice, good en suite facilities, and ample tea/coffee making provisions.

Cons:

Meals over generous for our digestive systems. The offer of slightly smaller portions would be ideal for us.

Awful, awful,awful. Needs desperate help from the hotel inspector.

Cons:

Dirty carpets, mattress spring broken, ragged curtains, peeling wallpaper, dripping tap, old tatty furniture, shower not working properly, property in disrepair. No air con. No proper hanging facilities other than a grotty wardrobe.

Was a beautiful building with quirky rooms

Cons:

Room was very hot! Over the front door lots of road noise day and night, we booked as it was listed as a good location for fishing on the river but as we later found out unless your in an angling club or had a BAA licence you couldn’t fish anywhere close, we ended up paying to fish at Drake’s Place which is the only place you can fish on the river freely with just a rod license, was beautiful and in the grounds of a gorgeous house was a very expensive trip to not be able to walk the Severn and fish
Also nowhere was open Monday for food apparently that’s normal in the area
