Staff good and friendly. Decent breakfast it is good,
Room too dark only 2 spot lights on ceiling, 1 bed side lamp this is not good at all we have to use our phones light for finding things. , bedding smells,
Main building was nice and well maintained. Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was very good.
Room was scruffy. Bedroom floor needed replacing and creaked really badly. Could not move round the bedroom without loud creaking noises from the floorboards. There was no floor under certain carpet áreas. Shower was not very powerful and water went everywhere. Ceiling beams looked as if they were made of Weetabix painted white. Bed mattress was uncomfortable. Lighting was dazzling and light switches were not in convenient places.
Its location, value for money and the pool.
Height and angle of shower, the view from window and breakfast not included .
Tea making facilities and bottles of water in room
Walls VERY thin could hear next door nearly word perfect
Facilities, staff, cleanliness.
The buildings and gardens were beautiful.
The room was dirty, it had not been hoovered as we kept standing on previous occupants hair clips all over the floor and members of staff using the toilet in the room whilst we were out leaving the room smelling vile on our return!
Lovely old building and comfy room
The original room given was not cleaned, bed unmade. A man sitting staring while having a catchup with family in the sitting room.
Breakfast was fine.
Nice walk round the grounds
Didn’t like the tap water went everywhere
Everything else was fine
The room we stayed in was very comfortable and the pool was very relaxing (although that's probably because it was empty). The hotel is lovely and there's plenty of parking available. The location was good, far enough from traffic and noise but very easy to get to nearby towns (if you have a car, I'm not sure how easy it is using public transport).
Grounds were lovely with peacocks roaming around
We stayed in a cottage. Stunk of damp and hadn’t been cleaned properly for a long time. Needed upgrading, very tired
Lovely old building, yet bedroom was clean and modern. Very friendly staff
Pool was over heated considering how hot it was outside (29 degrees). We had been hoping to having a refreshing swim.
The rural location and historical associations make this a compelling place to try for a short stay.
Staff all very pleasant.
Parts of it needed a clean eg cobwebs in the breakfast room.
Our room wasn’t made up during our stay.
The breakfast was very basic: no fresh fruit, jars of nuts, dried fruit etc almost empty on both mornings.
